I groaned as I opened my eyes. Stretching one arm getting the tight knots out of it. My other arm was numb. I'd probably slept on it. I really needed to get a lighter cover it was too hot in here. I turned my head away from my alarm clock and stopped myself jumping when I bumped noses with someone. I pulled my head back slightly to see a still sleeping Liesma.

It was then that I realised why my arm was numb. It was underneath Liesma's body, my hand resting on the slight inward curve of her waist. I quickly lifted the cover and looked inside it. I had sweats on and Liesma was wearing a tee shirt that had ridden up and some shorts. What... I remembered the lightening then remembered our agreement. I chuckled before studying Liesma's face.

She had extremely long lashes that casted a distorted shadow on her scarred cheeks. The lashes were atttached to almond-shaped eyes. I could see all the pale scars that covered her face at this closeness. They varied in size and shade. Her nose was small and a handful of freckles covered it and her cheeks. Her lips were parted slightly revealing white teeth. My hand stayed on her waist, her hand covering mine.

Her little finger was curled gently around mine and it stayed perfectly still. Then I realised that my hand wasn't moving and Liesma wasn't breathing. I quickled pulled my arm out from under her and turned her so she was on her back. She didn't make a noise. I gently bent down and held my breath, placing my ear just above her lips. I could feel the tiniest wisp of breath. I quickly checked her pulse, it was fine.

"What's happened to her?" I heard barking and turned to see Cocoa running around in circles. I felt stupid doing this but I was panicking and had no idea what to do. It was 7am meaning I had an hour to get ready for school and sought out Liesma. "How do I wake Liesma up?" The dog barked and then ran out of the door. I followed it into Liesma's room and then into the ensuit bathroom. It was neat and clean with only a few bottles of stuff.

The dog barked towards the sink and I looked at it. Above it was what I guessed was a medicine cabinet. I opened it and saw loads of different bottles, bandages and boxes. The dog barked again and I groaned. There were so many things but my eyes were instantly drawn to a liquid filled bottle with only a quick hand-written label. Take 2 teaspoonfuls every 24 hours exactly.

As I reached out towards it I could feel a strong sense of power in it. This liquid was infused with someone's power. I grabbed the bottle then hurried downstairs, grabbing a teaspoon from the drawer.

"Please be the right one." I silently prayed. I couldn't have Liesma die and ruin my assignment. As I hurried into the room I wasn't suprised to see that Liesma hadn't moved. I quickly unscrewed the lid and poured the liquid onto the spoonful. It glowed a pale blue. "Glowing medicine?" I gently placed my hand behind her head, raising it slightly before pushing the spoon in between her lips and pouring the liquid down her throat.

The liquid glowed through her skin, sending tiny blue beams of light spreading across it. I hurridley poured another spoonful and did the same thing again. I screwed the lid back on and placed the spoon beside it. I placed my face close to Liesma's trying to hear if she was breathing. Her skin slowly started to cool down to it's usual temperature and her breathing increased.

She groaned, her eyes fluttering open. Her eyes glowed the same pale blue before fading back to their orangish colour. "Thank god your alive." I quickly hugged her earning me a small squeak. She hadn't died and I hadn't failed my assignment.

She returned the hug awkwardly before groaning again and rubbing her head. "What do you mean?" She turned her head to the clock. 7:15. "Shoot. I have to get ready for school." She jumped out of my bed and then grabbed her stomach and bent down. I watched her eyes travel to the bottle of medicine as she carefully tried to manouver her way to the edge of the bed.
