I traced the knots in the heavy wooden table in front of me. I kept my eyes away from the shelves and shelves of books, Liesma was right about one thing, Drake really had built this like a TARDIS.Liesma had gone in between the aisles a while ago, leaving me seated by the small table bored out of my mind.

I wanted to hug her for stopping my boredom when she came back with a massive stack of books, taller than her, balanced carefully in her arms. She stumbled and I pushed out my chair to catch the books that fell in my arms. "Careful." I lowered the books onto the table and let Liesma place the rest beside them.

"Thanks" She smiled at me before rustling through the different scrolls and books on the table. "These are all the books I have on Fires. Only two are written after the riot. The rest are all written by Fires or the people closest to them. And this..." She handed me a old looking scroll tied with an orangey-red ribbon "...is a calende of all the festivals and celebrations in the fire tribes."

I thanked her and laid the open scroll doiiwn ointo the only section of clear table. The scroll was a yellowy-brown colour and was covered with scribbles which iguessed were the dates and descriptions of the events that were on the calander, none of them sounded interesting, most of them were just festivals of different powers and people.

One celebration did catch my eye though, the soul mate festival, The writing was on a space which was covered in tiny vines of ink that stretched across the calender and touched other dates, the 20th of each month.

I looked at the titles of books until I came to a small, colourful book called The legends of the festivals. I quickly pulled open the colour, wincing as I heard a slight crack. "Sorry," I looked up but Liesma had dissappeared, probably gone to read a different book. I skimmed the contents till  I found the story I was looking for, it was aptly named Soul Mates.

One day a stranger entered a Fire tribe. The tribesmen were cautious of him but they allowed him to stay as long as he wouldn't cause trouble. The man went around the village, offering advice that was suited towars his power, which was love.  His final stop was the Tribe leaders hut. The man told the leader that his wife was in love with another and that they were soul mates. Upon hearing this the leader questioned his wife who confirmed it. The man was nervous because the last tribe he was in, which was a water tribe, banished him for saying so but the Fire leader was a kind man and allowed his wife to be with her soul mate and allowed the stranger to stay with honours.

The leader asked the man if there was anything he could give him, the man only asked for one thing, to be allowed to collect the essences of every woman in the village so he may try and find his soul mate, the tribe leader happily agreed and ordered ever woman in the tribe to meet din the same place and let the stranger take some of their essence.

Among the women was the tribe leaders daughter, she was disguised as one of the common seamstresses since her father didn't want  her to get involved since she was promised to the son of a Death tribes leader, a marriage which would create some harmony between the rival tribes.  As soon as she spotted the stranger she fell in love with him and when he held her hand to take her essence she couldn't help but act embarrased and silly.

After the manhad collected the essences in different stones he climbed up the mountain that the tribe was settled on till he reached a temple. He placed the stones around him in a circle and then meditated, concentrating deep inside himself. One at a time he would persuade the rocks with the wrong essence to pile themselves in the corner. His power was enhanced fdue to the time he spent within his mind and he soon  became hyper aware of one of the essences increasing at the exact same time everyday.
