Chapter Twelve - Riff Acoustica

First things first, guys, HAI THERE! ^_^ So I've been struggling with this chappie because its just ugh and I know where I want to go but not how to get there and college has been a bitch to get around and i've had lots of Sociology and Lit homework but whatever. - Riff Acoustica POV - 

I strode out of the barn as the sun was rising, my head banging and my hooves aching. I couldnt remember most of what had happened last night, except for Rainbow Dash freaking out on me. So much for a loyal fan.

I looked up and noticed Spike running towards me. When he stopped, he panted for a few moments before speaking. "Riff!" 

"Uh huh..."

"Twilight's here! She arrived a few minutes ago." 

"Twilight?" Finally! Now Novella could stop worrying. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Spike nodded and led me to the library. Even though it was good that Twilight was here, it meant that I'd be leaving soon. Leaving Ponyville meant leaving Applejack.

"...so that' the plan." Twilight finished. We were all sat in the library, discussing options.

Novella leant against my shoulder, breathing out heavily."Wow. So we're really going to meet Princess Celestia?"

Twilight nodded, smiling. "She'll be here in three days time. My brother, Prince Shining Armor, his wife Princess Cadence, and their daughter Princess Skyla will be arriving this evening."

I nodded, then looked at the stallion sat next to her. "What did you say your name was again?"

He smiled, puffing his chest out proudly. "Flash Sentry. I'm in the royal guard."

Twilight looked at him and smiled. "We're engaged." Something in her voice or her face was off - like she didnt really believe in what she was saying. I looked away, not wanting to intrude. "You look tired." She said to me, amused. "Let me guess, Pinkie threw a party?" I nodded, laughing silently. "Feel free to go off to bed." I smiled and headed off, trying not to look back.

As I lay down, I found an unexpected image haunting me - instead of Applejack's face, i saw Twilight's sparkling purple eyes.
