Chapter Eighteen - Riff Acoustica/Rainbow Dash

- Riff Acoustica POV -

"So what did y'all want ta talk ta me about?" Applejack asked. She was fidgeting, looking back at the door. I took a step towards her.

"Look, I know you've got a lot on your mind right now..." I flicked my hair out of my eyes. "But I was just wondering if you'd want to-"

"Darn right ah've got a lot on my mind!" She shouted, turning away from me. "Ah'm sorry Riff, ah need some time alone."

I sighed, placing my hoof on her shoulder. "That's just fine." 

She turned to face me, smiling weakly. I sighed again, waiting for her to speak, so that I could hear her beautiful speaking voice. "You're a great pal, Riff."

I took a deep breath, preparing myself to ask what I'd been preparing to do all day. As I leant closer to her muzzle, I whispered, "Ever wondered if we could be m-"

"Applejack?" I heard Rainbow Dash say. "The nurse says you can see..." She trailed off, looking at us. Applejack jumped away from me, blushing. "...Applebloom...now." She finished quietly. For a moment we all stood staring at each other, until Rainbow Dash's face hardened. "Whatever." She said stonily, zooming into the air in a rainbow blur. 

"Rainbow! Come back here!" Applejack shouted at her, tears forming in her eyes. When the rainbow had faded, AJ turned to me. "Can y'all stay here with my sister while ah find Rainbow?" I reluctantly nodded, watching her gallop away.

- Rainbow Dash POV -  

Psh, of course I didnt care about Riff and AJ. Why would I care if AJ liked someone else. It's not like I like her or anything, did I? She was awesome and cool, yeah, but she was a mare and I was a mare. It just wasnt done. I dont like her, do I? Even if I did then it wouldn't matter. She's with Riff. 

Maybe I could get them to break up...if only I could make AJ jealous...

I zoomed down into Ponyville, searching for one mare in particular. I'd heard that she had dated mares and stallions. If I got her to come to Braeburn's party with me then AJ would have to be jealous! I dashed around until I found her in the record store.

"Vinyl! Hey, Vinyl!"

She turned to me, grinning. "Oh, hey Dash."

"Mind if I ask you something?..."

(Sorry it was so short guys! I hated this chapter and I hate writing as Riff but oh well. Next chapter will be up later today probably.)
