Caleb's POV
(Just trying this out.)She's my everything. I love her with all my heart, and I do anything for her if I had to. But gears are turning over and over again in her head, and it shows through her personality. Of course, I realize last year was one of the scariest times in her life, and I can't forget that. Something is in the way though.
Jace Parker. Yes, the Jace Parker, the schools bad boy/ player dude who has all of the ladies, including Melanie, (well he had her.) You see, that's where the problem begins. Melanie always thinks about him, and she still wants him. As much as she doesn't want to say it to my face, I know it. The way her eyes shimmer, and she stops like a dear in headlights when she sees him says it all.
Daniel and I have made somewhat friends, and he trusts me. He trusts me a thousand times more than Jace, any day. Dan just doesn't see how much Melanie got hurt by it.
Now, I'm not saying Daniel did anything wrong at all, because if he wasn't so protective, then that asshole Jace would be dating her instead of me.
The old wood of the bunk above me moved, and I could tell Melanie was awake. She's a solid sleeper, so when she moves, she's awake.
A big waterfall of brown, silky hair hung down from the top bunk and Melanie did a flip off of it, (holding on.)
She was still in her pajamas, which was a tank top and some booty shorts she wears for me. What, I'm a guy, most guys like that stuff.
I got out of the bottom bunk and met Melanie in the kitchen, where breakfast was being made by Nick. It's nice to have him around, but that means we don't get much privacy.
"Morning," I said as she stood at the coffee maker, yawning.
"Good morning," she gave a sleepy smile and waited for the coffee to drip down in her mug.
"Any plans today?" Nick asked, serving pancakes for all three of us.
"I got a few," Melanie sat next to me.

Melanie's POV
(Because Caleb isn't as important. //no offense Caleb.)I got into another form fitting party dress and did my hair and makeup. Caleb said I should go have some 'girl time,' so Kamri, Bree, and I are going out to a party. The rumors of this party say that it'll be wild and filled with people. Kamri called and told me to take my time, so we'll arrive fashionably late. That's my best friend for you!
As Kamri wanted to, we arrived late, and somewhat fashionably. A few recognizable faces were there, just people from my basic classes. Bree gave us a daring smile as we approached the alcohol. We're not twenty one, so if our party got busted, we'd be in deep shit.
But still, we all filled a solo cup with the burning liquid and got to the dance floor, dancing the night away.
I was half way done with my drink when I those eyes were on me again. My head shifted over and saw Jace in the corner with a girl that he was paying no attention to. Just his eyes on me and my eyes on him.
"I'll be right back," I told Kamri, "bathroom break." With my words, I traveled upstairs and went into the master bedroom of the house and saw my health teacher making out with a mid aged senior student. Immediately, I left, going to the smaller bathroom.
Once I entered the bathroom, I locked the door behind me and sat up on the counter, my head spinning. I wasn't drunk, but all this thinking has been stressing me out.
Ten minutes later and I was still sitting up on the counter, rubbing my temples.
Someone knocked, "hey Melanie, you okay?" It was Bree.
"Yeah, I'll be out soon," I replied and sighed.
The cabinet had some Motrin in a little bottle, so I took one and sat down again, until someone else knocked.
"Mel?" I froze and dropped. But I calmly got up and walked to the door, pep talking myself to be a strong girl.
As I turned the doorknob, it unlocked and a beautiful aroma filled the air. Fresh mint. Jace's blue eyes stared into me, as his tongue flickered on his lip ring, that same old cheesy smirk on his face.
"J-Jace? What are you..doing," I said, shocked.
"We need to talk, can we?" He politely asked and led me to the quiet master bedroom that now had nobody but us in it.
"Okay," he began, we both sat at the foot of the bed, "you don't have to say it back, but," and with that, his lips were on mine. I didn't push away, and I didn't kiss back. My eyes opened to see his lips moving and his eyes closed. My stomach fluttered. This made my night. I've missed this so much.
"I miss you, Mel," he whispered against my lips.
"This does not count, Jace Parker you listen to me. No one speaks of this, but I need this." Our lips smashed together, and he pulled me onto his lap, so I was straddling him. He picked me up and walked over to the door, locking it, then carrying me back to the bed.
He hovered over me, our lips still perfectly in sync. Then, his lips moved to my neck, making me run my fingers through his hair.
"Jace, this is wrong." I whispered and he stopped. He laid his head on my neck and sighed.
"Does Caleb do this?" Those gleaming eyes sparkled.
"No, we barely even kiss. God Jace, I miss it so much." I admitted.
"It's ok, I understand. But no one speaks of this."
"Good," I said, getting up and heading back downstairs.
