Caleb's POV:
It felt some what wrong kissing another girl, but I needed this way too much to the point where I had dreams about it. Every time I kissed Melanie, it felt wrong. Every time I kissed Veronica, it felt right.
Veronica was an old friend who'd help me in times of need, so a one night stand would leave us with no strings attached, and we'd both be fine with that.
It's hard to say that I have been sleeping with Veronica after the first month or two Melanie and I were dating. She seemed too focused on Jace, and it distracted her. So whenever my lips hit hers, it made me think of him, which disgusted me. I know she thinks about him, she always has. This is my way to get away from that.
After Veronica and I finish our 'duty,' we cuddle there on the bed, skin to skin. But this time I was craving more. My lips met hers and the rest of her body until we were back at it. Melanie didn't cross my mind much and to be honest, I didn't feel bad.
Melanie's POV;
><!><!><!><!><
I walked downstairs at the party, my lips tingling. Part of me felt bad for kissing him, but the other part didn't feel sorry at all. Caleb says so many sweet things to me, but half the time it feels like he doesn't mean any of it. A few months after we started dating, he stopped showing affection by touch, and sometimes any affection at all, and I still have yet to figure out why.

I woke up in my dress, snuggled close to a hard warm figure that just so happened to be Jace. I slowly and carefully sat up, smiling at Jace who was sleeping on his stomach, mouth wide open like a baby. Walking to the kitchen was quite a chore. People were passed out everywhere, so I may have stepped on a few people. I know this isn't my kitchen, nor anyone's I know, but orange juice sounded good, so I poured myself a glass, but froze as I heard footsteps approach.Jace's blue eyes sparkled when they met my green eyes. After last night, it'll be weird being around him.
"Going so soon?" His raspy morning voice quietly said.
"Yeah, Caleb," I paused for a minute and gulped thinking about Caleb, "he's probably worried you know."
Jace nodded, "Hey, relax, you look so nervous. It's ok." He reassured. "Do you feel alright?"
"I'm good, you know," my tongue clicked, "just tired." With that, I finished my glass of orange juice, put it in the sink, then grabbed my stuff off of the table, getting ready to leave.
"Thanks Jace, it was a real.. Pleasure. I'll see you around." I put my shoes on and my finger tips touched the door knob.
"Wait, Melanie." He stopped me and slowly walked over. Our lips connected slowly. I didn't pull away, I enjoyed my last kiss with him before I left.
"Call me when you need me," he whispered in my ear.
"I will, you too, okay?" I smiled and whispered back.
Then I left.
When I got home, Caleb was asleep on the couch with the tv on. He must not have been too worried, because he never called or texted me. Maybe he was busy too.
I got changed into sweat pants and a t-shirt, pulled my hair up, and took off my makeup. Today I needed to relax, I was too tired to do anything else.
My fingers lightly tapped Caleb's shoulder, and we slowly woke up, smiling up at me. He sat up, rubbed his eyes, then yawned. "How was last night?" Was the first thing he asked.
"I had a good time, my friends met me there," I replied.
"Oh, there's leftover breakfast in the fridge. Nick helped me cook it," Caleb watched me walk over to the fridge and gave a confused look.
"Are you okay?" I was asked, and I froze.
My body turned around to look at him, "yeah, my head hurts."
Caleb nodded at me, so I went back to getting breakfast.
The rest of the day, we enjoyed lazy time in front of the tv, and silence.
Authors note:
