Melanie's POV:
"God, I've missed you so much," he whispered in my ear, making me smile. Small pecks were placed down my jawline, ending at my neck.
I took in a deep breath, letting the air out slowly, enjoying every second with him. These two months have gone by slowly. Through all of his texts and calls, and even face-times, I've managed to live without him right next to me.
He rested his head on my stomach as we laid under the June stars. My sophomore year of college will be over soon, but then I'll have to come right back. But I'll be able to see my family again, and we'll have a happy summer together, like it used to be.
"I love you, Melanie." The words came out slowly and softly, as if anything louder could hurt me. He knew I was fragile, and I've gone through a lot.
"I love you too, Caleb," I smiled and looked at the blonde haired, green eyed boy resting his head on me.
Caleb has been studying Rome, and his class traveled there. He hasn't been in the same room as me for two months. Before he left, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I gladly accepted it. During our friendship, Caleb would help me get through my rocky past, and I thank him everyday for it.
Even though months and months (a year actually,) have passed since my stalker incident happened, I remember everything like it was yesterday, and those same goosebumps rise on my skin at the thought.
"How about we go have some fun together? Get back into the groove of things. After all, school is almost over." Caleb suggested.
"That sounds great," I smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Party at Jenna's sound good?" He asked, and I nodded in return, walking into my room, looking through clothes to wear.
We live in my apartment together, as well as Nick, and my brother occasionally stays with us when he visits, or when he's in the area for business.
I settled on a dark blue dress that goes down to the middle of my thighs, and has some open areas on my back. The straps rest right below my shoulders, making the dress more stylish.
My makeup was simple. Some darkish eyeshadow and some mascara. A pink colored lip gloss covered my lips leaving a shimmering affect. I curled my long hair, and pulled only the top half into a curly ponytail.
For shoes, I wore some blue heels that matched my dress perfectly.
It didn't take me long, and when I came out of my room, Caleb and I were ready to go. Normally, Nick comes to the parties, but my brother told him to lay back a little bit, since the bad people have been locked up.
I remember being terrified and shocked as I saw Oakley being shoved into jail. It never dawned on me that it would be him.
Shaking the bad memories off, I got into Caleb's car and we drove off to a party.
Kamri and Bree weren't hard to find, they were in the middle of everyone, all eyes on them. Kamri saw us first and she ran over to me and wrapped me in her usual bear hug. I laughed and hugged her back. Bree came over and hugged me too.
After one drink, and some dancing with Caleb and friends, I sat down on the couch, Caleb's arm wrapped around me.
A familiar pair of eyes landed on me, I could sense it. You know that feeling that someone is watching you? Yeah, that's the one.
My eyes shifted over and met his. He was swarmed by girls, all of them kissing on him. But those stubborn blue eyes never left mine, as if he were staring into my soul.
I've seen Jace around a few times, but I never talk to him. Sometimes he'll try to say something to me, but I block him out. It just reminds me of how much I missed him. But Caleb breaks my stare.
"You look tired," he chuckled.
My green eyes met his green ones, "yeah, let's go home."
I said goodbye to the girls, and walked out of the door with my boyfriend, those familiar old eyes still staring into my soul.
Authors note:
Wowie! Yes there was a big time gap, so she finished her first year of college (stalker year,) and now she's going to graduate her second year soon. Sorry if any one got confused by that. Who thought it was Jace in the first part until she said Caleb? What do you think of Caleb? Team Caleb or team Jace? Comment below!
