Chapter 20- A New Face

~Sky's PoV~

It's been a year since we left the nether. We haven't run into Herobrine or his apprentice Britney since then and for the better. When we returned from the nether, we thought it was appropriate to make Seto a grave- even if there was no body- we made his head stone that said the following: Here lies Seto J. Magik. A best friend. A legendary sorcerer. And a man who will never be forgotten. ???- 10/09/16

Is was quiet at home too, all of us decided to give up on school since it was no use to us and it was also a secret facility. We all just wanted to stay free from them, so the next year in May, we moved from Cubgin to Spawn City, the place were everyone came to for a better change. With it being it so busy on the inside, we lived on the outskirts of the city in a nice two story house for everyone to live in.

I had my own room upstairs, as did Ty, and Mitch and Jerome shared one downstairs, while Jason has his own. It was nice with living all them, every night was a huge sleepover.

We still played with our powers every now and then, but never outside the house. We weren't sure if a facility would be by Spawn City but sure all hell didn't want to find out either. So we kept to ourselves mainly but made small friends around the neighborhood.

Everything felt fine and calm- normal even. It was weird. Not having to worry about people hunting is down or trying to use us for our powers or trying to kill us.

Though, things started to get strange on a Saturday night. It was like any other night, some playing loud games downstairs while Ty and I were relaxing on the bed, talking about the past.

When suddenly, a bomb went off. Not like someone dropped the f-bomb, no- a literal bomb went off down the street.

It didn't harm our house so it'd had to be quite far away. The electricity was cut out and a bright flickering light emitted from the outside. I ran to the window and saw a house on the next block in flames.

"What the nether was that?" Mitch yelled from downstairs.

"I have no idea but stay inside, keep the children safe." Ty ordered.

"Children?" I questioned.

He shrugged. "Jerome and Jason basically."

I nodded my head. "True, true." Then turned back to the window. "What the hell was that though, who would set off a bomb in this place?"

"The facility might be finally losing the last sanity they had left. Or a kid was working on a science project that went wrong. Maybe we're being attacked by an unknown enemy?"

I shrugged. Who knew what it or who it was?

"Ty stay here, if I don't return in less than ten minutes- don't come after me- assume I'm dead or captured."

"Sky wait no!" He cried out.

It was too late, I jumped out of the window onto the ground and ran towards the burning house. I wasn't the only one outside their house either, neighbors were walking towards it, speculating the cause of it. I ignored them and finally stopped when I was two houses away from it.

There in the house emerged a person who's skin was covered and dripping with lava.

My jaw dropped open- was he like us? If he was, I couldn't allow anyone else to see him like this.

"Hey! Hey lava boy!" I waved my hands in the air. I caught his attention and he looked- scared. "Don't be scared, I'm here to help you!"

I ran closer and stopped a few feet away from him now. I extended my hand towards him. "I want to help you, we're like the same, you know?"

He held back his hands. "I-I don't want to burn you..."

I held my hand out farther and stared on his eyes. "Trust me."

Again, he hesitated but slowly extended his hand toward mine. I grabbed his hand and surprisingly felt no pain from him.

"My names Sky."

"I'm Preston. Preston Blaine Arsement" Once he seemed to calm down, his skin did the same. He began to emit steam and soon enough, he was a regular looking guy with brown hair.

"Let's get you out of here before someone notices you're standing in a burning house with only underwear." I said with a laugh.

He glanced down confused and laughed nervously. "Yeah that sounds like a good idea."

I offered him my jacket and he accepted it with pleasure. We went behind the houses through their backyards to avoid unwanted attention towards Preston. Once we got back to the house, I slipped him into some of my clothes before introducing him.

"Hey guys, this is Preston. Preston this is Ty, Jason, Jerome and Mitch."

They waved back but glanced back at me. "Where'd you find him exactly?" Jason asked.

"The house that was on fire because of that bomb we heard." I explained. "Yeah, he's one of us- his skin was dripping with lava when I first saw him!"

"Heh," Preston laughed nervously, "So if you guys said I'm like you guys- who are you guys exactly?"

"Well, I'm a Herobrine hybrid." I said.

"I'm an Enderdragon hybrid." Ty said next.

"Wither hybrid." Jason explained.

"I'm a bacca." Jerome said with a smile.

"And I'm a blaze hybrid with mental issues." Mitch said with a half smile. Preston gave him a confused expression. "Hey before I was part blaze they messed with my head majorly."

"I'm a lava mob." Preston said.

"Where do you come from Preston?" I asked.

"Texas, born and raised there too." He said.

"Wait- born and raised there?" Mitch asked.

"Yeah, I was adopted but then my parents disappeared one day from home. With no where else to go I moved up here with my friend." He explained. "He and I were trying to figure out how to repair his oven, but then we got into an argument and next thing I knew, everything was on fire.."

He got quiet. "Look, can we not talk about it anymore?"

I nodded and lead him to a guest room to spend the night.

"What if someone comes looking for him?" Jerome asked.

"Don't say a thing about him if anyone asks, until we find out more about him- he's our guest." I explained to everyone.

They nodded and then decided to head to their bedrooms since the power was still out.

I closed the door behind me and pondered in my thoughts about Preston. It doesn't seem like he's been or heard of the facility. If that's true- then how did he get his ability to turn into a lava mob?

Bonus chapter yay! Currently there is a blonde person on me who dared me to write this in- okay so as I was saying. Thanks for everything and I'm saying this now, this is the last chapter of this story but there might be an epilogue too :3
