freedom

calum seems very normal to me. i have not a clue as to why he is in here in the first place. but i know now that he's been here for a long time.

"you got in here yesterday, huh? the word about you spread around like wildfire." he absentmindedly speaks, playing with the fork in his hand.

i just nod, not knowing what to say. we both eat our meals silently and when we're done, we head for the exit.

he talks to me and i feel guilty for not really replying. but it's just the way i am with strangers.

"you know, they say that you're another luke. but you don't act like him so i don't know what to assume." calum says as we walk ahead of our assigned nurses.

i hate the fact that wherever i go now i will be escorted. the freedom i actually had has vanished.

"who is luke?" i ask.

just as the question leaves my mouth, we walk past a room where i can see a blond boy inside through the glass—screaming blue murder and scratching at the walls.

"him."
