monster

my heart is beating so slowly that i pray for it to stop. but of course, it keeps on beating anyway.

calum gives me one last look before walking away from the glass and disappearing from my sight while luke has stopped screaming.

i run a hand down my face whilst sighing in defeat prior to turning around to see the frightening girl of my nightmares.

"do you ever go away?" i ask, and once i come face to face with her, i'm genuinely shocked.

she is back in the clothes she had sported when she first appeared in my life at the park—minus the backpack. for once, she looks like a normal girl who loves music and silence.

but now i know how much of a monster she is, and i won't fall for that.

she shrugs before sitting on the floor, her legs crossed. "i can never go away, you idiot. i'm you and you're me. we can't be separated," she smirks.

and god, i want to wipe that stupid smirk of hers off of her freaking face.

"you left me all morning and now you decide to come back? can't you give me another few hours?" i beg as if she's really there, when i know that no one sees her but me.

she stands up, walking towards me as her stare burns into mine. only now do i realize that her eyes look exactly the same as mine.

"did i really leave you this morning, michael?" she questions, "are you sure about that?"

and once i see the damn smile forming on her face, my mind instantly drifts back to the creepy nurse.

"oh."
