disheveled

another sleepless night has gone by so painfully slow that i dread every single second that ticks away with every single breath i take.

when morning comes, a different nurse escorts me to the cafeteria and the creepy one from yesterday is nowhere to be found.

as i walk, i can feel my eyes burning due to the lack of sleep and i bet there are dark circles around them.

i sit at yesterday's table with calum and i think this will be my daily routine from now on. he doesn't seem to despise my presence, too.

"the thing came back yesterday, huh?" calum asks, swallowing whatever food he's chewing. "seems like you haven't gotten any sleep."

i sigh and nod, pushing my tray of food to the side because suddenly, my appetite has vanished. "the thing is a she and she's fucking annoying. she scares me, too, sometimes."

"luke's is a she, too. well, from what i've heard. i just hope she won't drive you crazy so you won't end up like him." he speaks and i laugh in return.

"do you even hear yourself?" i hold my stomach, trying to contain my laughter. "you hope that she won't 'drive me crazy'? calum, she put me in here!"

just then, the door to the cafeteria opens and a few nurses walk in with a tall, blond boy following suit. he looks exhausted and walks so awfully slow.

the bags under his eyes are so dark they look like bruises and his blond hair's a disheveled mess. he lacks food, too, seeing his body so skinny.

i watch him take a seat at an empty table far away from us and my gaze lands on the creepy nurse in the corner, smiling at me as her voice echoes inside my head.

"i'm going to make sure that you end up like luke hemmings."
