"I will soon defeat you!" Dr. Watermelon yelled. "You will be mine! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!"
"No!" I yelled. He tied a rope around my body and dangled me over a tank of sharks. "Somebody help me!"
"Well then, Wake up!" Mr. Watermelon shouted.
"No!"
"Wake up!"
"Never!" Then, the earth started shaking and I knew I was about to be fed to the sharks. "AHHHHH!" I yelled.
"WAKE UP NOW! Or we are going to be late to school!"
My eyes snapped open. Josh was standing over me, shaking me violently. "WAKE UP!"
"I'm up," I said as I sat up and he finally stopped shaking me.
"Did you dream about Mr. Watermelon, again?" This might take some explaining to you guys. I tend to have nightmares a lot. Especially after something tragic in my life happens. But I'm okay now. A little shaken, but okay;) The nightmare I just had...tends to happen a lot. It has scared me ever since I was like five. I really should have never watched, "I Was Killed By A Watermelon," when I was little. That movie was terrible!
"What are you doing? Get out of bed! Lets go!"
"Sorry Josh, I was explaining to the readers."
"Daisy, you really got to stop thinking your life is a book, now come on!"
"I followed him and got ready for school. I grabbed my book bag and stepped outside and stopped moving," Why you might ask? Because of a person standing at the bus stop. It was an old lady. She was in a black cloak, holding a black purse, wearing black boots, and holding a black umbrella. What is weird about all this? First of all, she dressed in all black clothes that look fit for winter and it is 90 degrees out! Second of all, she has an umbrella, open, over her head and its not raining now or any time later in the day!(I checked the weather on my phone just now;) And lastly, she's an old lady at a bus stop that only takes children to school. It doesn't take old ladies! I figured I better find out why she's here. I walked to the bus stop and she turned to look at me.
In a grouchy tone she yelled," Hey Little missy! I need to talk to you. She pointed at me with an wobbly finger. I approached her cautiously and opened my mouth to speak, but she shushed me."No, No missy. Only I speak." Okay....who is this lady and what is wrong with her. She doesn't even know me and she shushed me! "Missy, your grandma wanted me to tell you something after she died." I was absolutely shocked. Crazy lady knows my grandma!?!?! Crazy lady is my new name for her. "Your grandma has a secret she kept from all of your family. She wanted me to tell you what it is but you cannot tell the others." What?!
"Why cant I?" I asked curiously.
"Because missy, Your grandmother knew she couldn't trust them with this secret. She only trusts you."
"What is it?"
"I'm afraid I can't say it aloud because of all the people here. We have to keep it secret or everyone will find out."O....kay?
"What do you know?"
"Little missy, all I know is what is on this note. Although you'll have to read it in your head because of all these people."
"You don't know how much I thank you. How do you know my grandma?"
"Missy, you need to stop asking so many questions," she threw in a low chuckle that sounded a lot like Santa Claus. "I'm afraid I cannot answer that one either. Chao!" I wanted to ask her what the umbrella and all black clothes was about but before I could, she vanished in a cloud of black smoke. Whoa!!!!! I looked around but everyone looked fine and undisturbed. Am I seeing things? I looked down at the note. I figured I could put it in my pocket and read it later when I have time.
"Come on Daisy!" I turned to see Josh halfway up the bus steps. "Hurry up!" I didn't realize the bus had already came. I got on the bus and looked for a seat. The only empty seat was one in the way back, so I took it. I hate sitting in the back. Wanna know why? Because of them! What do I mean by them? There is this group of high school kids that do bad stuff. (You know what I mean) They are really bad kids. I don't like sitting near them because they make fun of people, including me.
"Hey Blonde! I see you decided to join us!" said a boy who looked like he was the leader of the gang. By the way, I just realized I haven't talked to you about my appearance. I have caramel hair (that a lot of people say is blond but it's not), brown eyes, and I'm an average size for my age. I only tend to get made fun of for my name. I don't get made fun of for my appearance though. Lindsey says I am actually rather pretty.
"What is your name? Or wait. I remember, you that Daisy kid! What a funny name. You're the complete opposite of it! I'm glad I wasn't named that. That name is hideous!" They all laughed and I wanted to punch them all in the face. Okay, well they were right about one thing, I'm the complete opposite of my name. When you think of Daisies, you think of happiness and walks in the meadow, while I'm fierce when I get mad and I don't have a lot of happy days.
Since I wasn't saying anything, they eventually got bored messing with me and forgot about me. I sat in silence the rest of the ride there. We finally got to school and I got off the bus. Again, I stopped. Why? You may ask. Lindsey was talking to a boy who I'm guessing is her new boyfriend! I walked up to them.
"Hey Daisy! Meet Michael. He's my boyfriend." Now that I could see him more clearly I was able to take in his features. He had brown hair, green eyes, and was of average size. He had his hands in his pockets.
"Hi," I told Michael.
"Hey," he replied. His voice sounded familiar. I felt like I had seen him before but I couldn't remember where.
"We should all go to the movies after school. It would be fun!" Lindsey suggested.
"I'm in," Michael said in a sly tone. I don't like this guy. There's something off about him. I figured I better go just to keep an eye on him and make Lindsey happy.
"I guess I'll go too."
"Great," Lindsey said. "Come on guys. Lets get to class before we're late." We followed her. We all headed to first period together, not knowing what lay ahead of us.
Here's chapter 2! Again, if there's anything I could do to make this chapter better or this book in general, please comment. But only kind constructive criticism please;) Thanks so much for reading this chapter and I really hope you enjoyed it:D
