The darkness faded and I saw we had arrived in a small house. The paint on the walls peeling and old beige curtains swayed from all the commotion created by our arrival. All the rooms were rather small, however, one thing stuck out to me... the sitting room. There was an old spruce wood rocking chair placed across from a small brown love seat. Both were separated by a minuscule tray sitting on a rectangular coffee table. I could practically see two figures sitting on the love seat laughing away as if nothing else mattered in the world but them, an elderly lady sitting in the rocking chair with her face in her palms contemplating something, and an energetic young girl making kissy faces at the two friends and making smart comments. After seeing this I knew we were in Susan's house.

I smiled at the memory and turned to see my dear aunt Susan walk toward the sitting room, gesturing for the three of us to sit.

"Make yourselves comfortable," she said. "This one might take a while, like a lot longer of an explanation than the first one." I nodded my head, smiling to show I had understood what she said, and she walked off into the kitchen. I was presuming to make some tea for us. Gabe, Jade, and I walked into the room. As was now the custom, Gabe and I sat in the love seat and Jade in the chair beside the rocking chair. I looked to Gabe and smiled. He smiled back and said.

"Can't wait to hear this one. Maybe she'll finally tell us what the whole deal is behind these powers and crazy people showing up?"

"I sure hope so," I replied, "Or sitting down to have this long conversation wouldn't seem to make all that much sense if she were going to just talk about puppies or something." Gabe laughed at that like he always does when I'm being sarcastic.

"Hey though, that wouldn't be all that bad, I mean puppies are the best. They're just so darn cute!!" It was my turn to laugh. Man, I just loved his innocent responses. He could be so precious and adorable at times. He just smiled at me, for like the one hundredth time today. I had stopped keeping track a while ago.

Just then Susan walked in with a few teacups and a plate of cookies. She placed them delicately on the table and went to sit down slowly in her chair, letting out a huge sigh in the process.

"So.." She started. "I'm sure you guys have a lot of questions." Yes ok, get on with it, I thought. "Jade here knows a lot more then you guys do, in fact, I doubt she even really needs to be here for this conversation." Gabe and I quickly exchanged intrigued glances. Jade smiled and looked proud for a moment, however she said nothing. Probably knowing it was best for her grandmother to explain. "There is also a lot to talk about," she continued," and it is more than just an explanation, it is a reality. An ongoing story that we are living right now that once you know about, your lives will be changed for the better. You will never be able to turn back to the way things were before." I started to feel a little uncomfortable. Gabe sensed this and wrapped his arm around my back, trying to comfort me. It worked, kind of.

"By telling you this, I'm exposing you to a new reality, a new world that you may never tell anyone else about unless I give permission. Not even your brothers, sisters, friends, or anybody. It is top secret. Well, maybe some suspect weird things are happening, but they are mainly clueless. Anyway, you guys are special, especially you Gabe. Now you are really special." Susan smiled and Gabe looked at me with a mixture of surprise and fear. I smiled and rubbed his back in an effort to comfort him.

"Now you guys are probably confused so let me start from the beginning,"

"Ever since the beginning of time, people have held many secrets and fought many battles. Wars roared across the world, taking many innocent lives and causing mass destruction across the planet. Now, all wars that have ever occurred on earth have started with one thing, discontentment. Someone did something to make someone else angry or people just wanted change in the way things were at the time. They wanted to try and change the world in an attempt to make it better in their eyes. Now to make this clear, I'm not saying any of these points of view were wrong, but I am just saying this to make the point that many people believe and think differently about certain issues which are often one of the leading causes of war."
