"Come on Lindsey! Why did you do this to me?!? You know how much I hated the first movie," I exclaimed. Lindsey should know. She's my best friend for crying out loud!
"I know. That's why I'm taking you to this movie. I want you to get over your fears. What better way than to watch the second movie! Anyway, that was a while ago. I know you can get over your fear," Lindsey said reassuringly.
"Thanks for all the encouragement, but I've had nightmares about that movie for a long time now. I don't think I will ever be able to get over it."
"Ummm, ladies, I'm sorry to interrupt but the movie is about to start," Michael said.
"It's alright Daisy. I'm watching it too. I've never seen the first movie but I'm sure the second won't be as bad," Lindsey told me, completely ignoring Michael. Which kinda surprised me, actually. This whole thing must be really important to her. I'm going to.... My thoughts were interrupted by Michael screaming. Gosh he's really annoying right now.
"LADIES! THE MOVIE IS STARTING! STOP YAPPING AND START WALKING!!!!"
Lindsey turned to look at him disapprovingly. I think I also saw a little anger too, which surprised me. I mean, Lindsey mad at her boyfriend who she's been obsessing over since they started dating only three days ago! That's crazy talk!
"Michael," she uttered through her teeth, "never talk like that in front of my friend or ever...again." That shut Michael up for most of the evening. Go Lindsey! That's my best friend who just stood up to her boyfriend!!
"Come on Daisy, let's go in there before Michael does something else
he'll regret." I'm going to go in there. I really don't want to but I have to. I'm doing it for two reasons. One, I don't want Michael to yell again. To be honest, he is really scary when he does. Remember, I don't like to admit when I'm scared or sad because I'm tough so this is saying something big. Secondly, I'm doing it for Lindsey and her plan even though I don't think it's gonna work. I'm ALWAYS AND FOREVER going to HATE that movie.
We walked in and I ducked my head, hoping no one would recognize me and see the super scared look on my face. Luckily, no one recognized me or said anything. Even if they did recognize me, they didn't say anything. Went to our seats and I sat down, relieved that no one saw me and scared for the movie at the same time.
I guess Lindsey noticed because when she sat down next to me she asked, "Are you alright?" Well that was a silly question. Of course I'm not! I didn't say that to her because I wouldn't want to hurt her so instead I said...
"No, are you sure this plan of yours is going to work?"
"If it doesn't, you can push me into the swimming pool while I'm wearing the clothes I'm wearing now. You know how much I love this shirt and how much I hate being in wet clothes!" That is true.
Ever since we were little, she'd always insist on wearing rain boots, a raincoat, and taking an umbrella outside every time we went outside to play when it was raining, even if it was only sprinkling. Unlike her, I don't mind playing in the rain. It's actually kind of fun!
"Ok, but you have to promise, but not just any promise. You have to pinkie promise, like we did when we were little kids," I said.
"Ugghh, Fine."
"Pinkie promise?"
"Pinkie promise."
"Hey ladies, I don't mean to be rude but, the movie is starting," Michael said. Well the silence from him didn't last very long. We listened to him. At least, I did.
