Jerome's POV

After Mitch was taken care of, I made sure our outer guards were doubled; knowing Seto couldn't be far.

He knew - or thought - that I would panick, giving him the perfect opportunity to attack. But I wouldn't have it, I was in charge and I needed to be calm, be strict.

I wasn't going to let some coward win again.

Our plan was to stay in the camp, act as sitting ducks and wait while another, secret group searched for Seto.

They were to be commanded to stay close to the camp, but not to close.

Tyler would stay here, making sure everything was running smoothly for now whilst I, Rob, Preston and the rest looked for Seto.

Hopefully Mitch would be good to go by then, but if not, Tyler were to put him in an underground bunker until, who knows when.

These so called 'wars' never ended quickly. The last one went on for almost a month until Alec disappeared.

Speaking of him, I needed to go back to his room. There was a high chance that something helpful might be hidden within his 'books of wisdom' as he liked to call them.

Hopefully there'd be something about dark magic or something, maybe even something that'll help Mitch.

Hours later

It was almost dusk now, and I've probably gone through every book of Alecs'. All the reading was exhausting but it was worth it, Alec had some very intriguing and helpful tricks and tactics on fighting with dark magic and just fighting in general.

Nothing about Seto's magic, or how to create any potions or drugs of his.

I quickly put all the books back in there original positions and sat down in the desks chair in exhaustion.

"What to do now . . . "

I pulled my hands behind my head for support and leaned back, relaxing a bit.

Out of boredom, I took the opportunity to examine all the little details and objects that were on it.

There weren't any photos, there was just a lamp, and a couple of old, torn books resting against the wall.

I picked one up, realizing I hadn't read these yet and flipped through the pages.

The words made no sense though, and the handwriting was atrocious.

I then realized that it wasn't English, but Greek.

I remembered Alec telling me something about Seto's love for the Greek language and how he'd always speak in Greek when performing magic or spells.

I placed the book down and picked up yet another, hand written book.

This one was in fact in English, but there was still Greek writing.

It was a book on the Greek language, and how to speak and understand Greek.

I skimmed through many pages, trying to understand everything I could.

Soon enough, the sun had set and I'd learned a decent about of Greek.

I tiredly placed the book back on the desk and stood up, walking into the kitchen.

I grabbed a couple of water bottles and a box of crackers and headed towards Mitch's room.

He was still unconscious when I last saw him, hopefully he'd be awake by now though.

As I passed through the hallways, I noticed a soft, what seemed like a conversation going on in Tyler's room.

I hesitantly stopped, moving closer to the door, but all that could be heard now was silence.

I ignored it and continued towards Mitch's room.

As I finally approached Mitch's room, I noted that the energy seemed to shift.

The air was thicker, as if it were made of smoke.

I quickly walked in, and in all his glory, was Mitch.

I gasped at the sight in front of me though, nothing was wrong, it was almost the opposite to be exact.
He was conscious.

His eyes stared intensely at the wall in front of him, and he sat crossed legged, motionless.

I hesitantly placed the water bottles and crackers down before moving towards him ever so slowly.

As I approached him I noted once more that the air became more thicker, something wasn't right.

"Mitch?"

No response.

"Mitchell."

Nothing.

"Mitch if you can hear me, say my name."

Once again, there was no response.

His eyes stayed focused on the wall,
eyes . . . .

I marched in front of his gaze, then to the side, and then back to my original position.

Still nothing.

Only now had I realized that he had actually physically changed.

His eyes were now purple, and more vibrant.

Suddenly his gaze shifted.

He looked around the entire room before his eyes finally stopped on me.

And for a split second, for one tiny moment, I didn't recognize the person in front of me.

I didn't see, Mitchell Hughes.

I saw someone -or something- else.
And it was terrifying.
