Mitch's pov

Is it finally over? I'm a finally, dead?
Everything is black, I can't move.

What is that? Why is it coming towards me? Why is it-

"Mitch!"

My eyes lazily opened. Memories returning rapidly.

I sat up slowly, my body aching and chest burning.

My vision was blurred but I saw that I was sitting in a mossy hole, about 2 feet deep. I could also see the decapitated body laying across from us.

Jerome's hands were black and brown and red. It scared me.

Jerome gently placed his hand n my shoulder, rubbing it in a comforting yet hesitant way.

"Fuck Mitch,"

I looked up, Jerome stared at me through lidded eyes.

"What?" I whispered, my voice cracking. Dear god let everything be over.

"We did it."

Jerome smiled, helping me up slowly. The sky was a blue and beautiful, the wind was gone and everything seemed... peaceful.

"We did it!"

I laughed weakly as Jerome shouted to no one in particular.

I caught a glimpse of the dead body only a couple feet away, it was black and bruise and twisted in ways it shouldn't. Oh god..

"We did it Alec! We killed him!"

Jerome was in his own world at this point, he couldn't hear me yelling his name.

"Jerome! Mitch!"

Rob and Preston ran into the field, but it was to late.

Jerome glanced at the two only before getting tackled in a giant hug by the pair.

"You did it!"

The three laughed and screamed in ecstasy. Thankful it was over. The wind danced lazily throughout the field as the three of them celebrated.

Rob stood up helping the two up. "Where's Tyler and Mitch?"

Jerome's expression faltered, "He's the one that drugged us. He wasn't on our side. I don't know where he went.."

The three went silent, Rob and Preston thinking about Jerome's last words.

"Vikk, Ty and Adam." Preston mumbled.

Jerome sighed, running a hand through his hair. Barely showing any remorse, but it was there.

"Vikk went out on his own, Lachlan found him seconds before he died. Adam died saving Ty and, well, Ty died of shock afterwards."

The three where silent, Rob sniffling slightly. Preston was barely able to keep himself from braking down.

"But we did it."

Preston and Rob nodded with a half smile.

"We fucking did it," Jerome laughed sadly, his voice cracking. He was a mixture of sadness and relief, his head dizzy.

"Where's Mitch?" Rob looked over to the dead body, furrowing his brows at the object beside it.

Jerome turned around, searching frantically for his companion.

His eyes were glued to the black and purple smoke that circle slowly where Mitch was last standing.

"No, oh god no!" Jerome yelled out in frustration.

"Jerome?" Preston whispered hesitantly, seeing as Jerome was now furious.

Jerome walking over to the smoke, there was an object laying beneath it.

Jerome picked up the chain carefully, swatting away the smoke and growling as he threw it away forcefully.
Rob and Preston watched in confusion and fear. They could tell something was very wrong.

"Jerome what's wrong?"

Jerome was breathing heavily, running his hands over his face in frustration.

"He's gone." He sighed in defeat.

Rob picked up the chain, attached to it was a dog tag with the name 'Mitch' scrawled onto it, 'αέρας' written in gold underneath it.

"Just like Alec, he's gone. His powers consumed him and he," Jerome let out a strangled cry, the memories of Alec's death running through his mind. "He's gone." He sighed.

The field went silent. Rob and Preston staring at each other through teary eyes.

The wind danced around the field, whispering sweet nothings as it disappeared once again.

Jerome choked a laugh, "I've always hated wind."

The end.
