I was scrolling through my phone until I heard breathing in the room—but it wasn't me. I stood up to check over Kat, and she regained consciousness.
"Kat," I mumbled as she looked at me. She didn't say anything. Instead, she gave me this confused look. "Who are you?" She asked as my heart dropped into a million pieces. Did her amnesia made her forget that I existed?
I just stared at her in utter disbelief. I almost teared up as she said that. But I guess it's understandable since she does have temporary amnesia, but why me? Why did it choose to forget the memories she had with me? "Who are you?" She asked once more, but even more aggressively.
"I'm Connor Collins." At this point, I knew we had to restart everything.

Who was this man right in front of me? He looks like a total stranger. Sure as hell I didn't meet anybody that looks like him. If he was my boyfriend, all I know is that Jake is my boyfriend. "Where's Jake?" I asked as I tried to sit up.
"Jake? He's with Stacey. They're engaged." Connor explained. I didn't know how to respond. Was Jake cheating on me all this time? "Looks like you're thinking about something." The brown haired boy said as he smirked at me.
"It's because Jake is my boyfriend, right?" I asked as my eyes started bottling up with tears. "He's not. Y-you're single." Connor murmured.
"Oh."
At this point, I give up. Who is this man and why is he here? Why am I in the hospital? And why is this man's cheek bruised? "Who are you? What's your relation to me?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"I am.. a friend of yours." He said. Jade ran into the room with a guy intertwined with her hands. "Kat! Oh my God! Are you okay?" She asked as she ran towards me, later cradling my head. "I'm fine. I just don't know who this guy is." I answered as Jade looked at Connor.
"Kat, he's your b-"
"Friend! I'm her friend." He quickly interrupted. "He's the guy you live with. Okay?" Jade reassured as I nodded. There was an awkward silence swirling around the room. "So, how's Levi and his boyfriend?" I asked as I sat up straight and wrapped my arms around my knees.
"Well, they're fine. Marki's still the bitch we know and love." Jade said as she smiled slyly. "Babe, we have to go." Alex said as he placed his phone back into the pockets of his denim pants.
"Aw, okay. Bye hun, call me if you need anything." She said as she left the room with Alex. It was just me and Connor. He was sat on the small armchair located near the curtains, and it looked like he was thinking about something. "Connor," I said, making him look at me. "When will I go home?"
"Doctors said about two days from now." He mumbled, later looking down at the floor. I saw a tear drop down to the ground, later splashing into tinier drops. "Connor!" I said as I almost stood up, but I was wired to the dextrose. "It's fine! Just stay there. You might get detached from your dextrose." He stood up and walked to me, placing his hands on my arm.
I grabbed my phone out and noticed something lumpy behind the case. I unraveled the object and it was an apartment key on a necklace. "What's this?" I asked as I showed it to Connor. "That's a key to our apartment." He explained, looking deeply into my eyes.
"Hey, how did we become flat mates?" I asked. "I don't know." He answered with his eyes still locked onto mine. I looked closely to his eyes, and his pupils were dilating. "C-Connor, your pupils are dilating." I said as he snapped out of it and looked away, crimson red.
"I'm sorry, it's just—complicated." He said as he sat back down on the armchair. Does he have feelings for me? Why are his pupils suddenly dilating?

Finally, I got out of the hospital. But now I had to live with this total stranger—I mean I remember everything—The college I'm going to, my friends and family, but who was this man in particular and why is he very suspicious? "So, here's the house." Connor said as he closed the door. I twirled around and saw the amazing architecture, but it looked familiar—like I saw it before.
A cat walked up to me and it had blue emerald eyes with white fur. "Aw, look at you. So adorable, what's her name?"
"Her name's Rosie." He answered as he rested his body on the side of a cabinet, with his keys still in between of his fingers. "Awe, what a lovely name. Rosie!" I chimed as Rosie started purring as I rubbed her head. I carried her by her front legs and walked to the couch, later placing her down on the cushions and petting her.
"She's adorable, isn't she?" Connor asked as he sat beside the cat. I nodded in response, continuing to pet her head. "Just like you." It was softer than a murmur. I looked at him and he looked at me, with widened eyes.
"Hey, you want to go to the carnival later?" He asked as I nodded. Rosie eventually went to sleep, and I left her on the sofa going to the bedroom. I looked around and saw a teddy bear, specifically a white one with a red bow. It looked so familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Kat! Get ready since we're gonna go to the carnival!" Connor yelled as I finished putting on my black ripped skinny jeans, my white muscle tee and my white converse, and Connor wore his blue hoodie. "Ready to go?" He asked as he stood in between the door frames. I nodded silently in response, grabbed my phone and hopped into the car.
