(Lyssa POV)
He was awake... Crap... "G-good morning, bestie," I blushed.
"Hey," Oliver smirked.
"Let's go get something to eat," I said getting up.
"Alright," he sighed getting up after me. "I'm sorry for sleeping next to you," Oliver apologized. "You were crying so I sat next to you, but I guess I fell asleep..."
Of course. This was just out of courtesy. "Thanks, Oliver, you're really sweet," I replied. He was just being nice... I don't know what I was thinking.
(Oliver POV)
'Really sweet', 'great friend', but she kissed me... She kissed me because I was being 'sweet', remember?
"What are we gonna do today?" Lyssa asked, interrupting my thoughts.
"I think we should do more research. We didn't figure anything out yesterday."
"Okay, but you're buying me breakfast!" she smiled.
"How about ice cream?" I suggested, waiting for that smile.
I was rewarded with another beautiful smile, "You, sir, have just become my very best friend."
"I thought I already was..." I looked at her accusingly. Then, I flopped on the bed pretending to be shot, which earned me a giggle. Man, I'm on a role today!
"You were, but you just got promoted," she smiled.
(Time skip to Krekel's)
(Lyssa POV)
"Your ice cream, m'lady," Oliver smiled as he handed me the lemon custard. [My fav from Krekel's]
"Oh, sir, you're just too kind," I mocked him as he sat down.
"You better watch it, missy," he grinned.
"Watch what?" I asked smirking.
"That's it," Oliver smirked and swiped ice cream on my nose.
"Hey! That's foul play!" I joked, trying to lick my nose.
"Let me get it," Oliver smiled grabbing a napkin and dabbing at my nose. I accidentally found myself staring at him. I could get lost in those green eyes.
"Well, well, well," my thoughts were interrupted by Mark putting his arm around my shoulders. I tried to pull away, but he held on tight. "Now, now... You two love birds can chat later..." he started kissing my neck, "I want my time with you."
I gulped. Why me? I never wanted him as an uncle. Oliver looked as if he would explode.
(Oliver POV)
I can't let this happen... Not to Lyssa. This freak can't touch her like that... So, I did the only thing I thought necessary...
I punched the guy right in the face.
"Lyssa! Run!" I reached my hand out to her. She grabbed it and we fled the restaurant. We ran for about two blocks straight, before deciding to rest on a park bench.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" I started throwing questions at Lyssa.
"I'm fine, I'm fine... Just a little shaken, that's all..." Lyssa smiled.
"I'm so so sorry," I apologized, "I should've known he would find us... We should've just eaten at my place."
"Oliver, it's fine. I'm not hurt, you're not hurt. It's all okay," she gave me a small smile.
That smile makes it all better... "Okay, let's go to the library and do some of that research."
We walked to the library which was only a block away from the park we stopped at. There were a bunch of computers open, unlike yesterday, so we sat down and got straight to work.
"So, now that we know who he is it'll be easier to find out more. Right?" I confirmed.
"Exactly," Lyssa said focussing, "He was also in jail ever since I was a little girl. We should be able to look at some police reports as well."
"Okay, let's get to work then," I smiled and we got researching.
We spent the rest of the day at the library. "Lyssa, come on, the library's about to close and we haven't eaten anything but the ice cream we had this morning..."
"Fine, we can go," she finally caved in after about 10 minutes of convincing. We went straight to my house, picked up our stuff, and headed towards a nearby bus stop.
"This should throw Mark off a little," I said as we arrive.
"I hope so... I really don't want him to touch me anymore," Lyssa said, clearly trying to hold back tears.
Just as I was about to comfort her, someone put an arm around her shoulders. I immediately stiffened. "Who's touching you?" Mark asked with a devilish smirk.
Crap...
Hope you guys liked this chapter! I'm so sorry that you had to wait, I really wanted to update. I had a but of writer's block, but I did get some inspiration! Please comment and give me your feedback. Also! This is my second chapter switching point of views. I would like to know if you guys like it better with both or just with Lyssa's. Thanks for reading and I can't wait to upload ON TIME next week!!
