(Oliver POV)

Madame Raja looked surprised at our immediate answer.  She didn't seem to be expecting it,  "Are you sure you want to do this?  It could mean death for the both of you."  She looked at Lyssa and I worriedly.

"I'm up for it," Lyssa spoke up.  "If it means that I can make right what's happened to Jordan and Mom, then I'm willing to do what it takes."

They both looked to me, awaiting my answer.  "Lyssa is my best friend.  I can't let her do this alone.  We're in this together.  We've made it this far.
There's no point in stopping, now," I replied steadily.  There was no sign of doubt in my voice, but there was a lot in my mind.

What if she dies?  What if I die? What about Madame Raja?  What about my parents?  They don't know where I am.  What's going to happen...?

I pushed aside all of those thoughts as the older woman led us into the training room, "Now, for the next week, we train hard.  Less breaks and lots of focus will be needed.  We have to get this before Mark reaches his potentiāls."

Lyssa and I nodded.  We understood the dire gravity of this situation and how much work it would take, but we're ready to commit.  I know Lyssa is serious about this and so am I.

That first day worked us hard.  My back and arms were sore and we were dead tired.  Lyssa and I went back to our room and she flopped on the bed immediately.

"Do you think we're doing the right thing?" she asked me. "I mean, we're just teenagers. . ."

I raised one of my brows, "Yes, we're 'just teenagers', but who else is more qualified.  You're so smart and talented.  Now, you have powers, too."

She started to smile a bit. "And I'm dashingly handsome with muscles and powers.  We're perfect for the job!"

She giggled.  I swear, that is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.  I love that I can make her smile and giggle.

"Careful," she warned, laughing, "you keep pumping up your ego like that, and your head won't fit through the door."

I smiled and stuck my tongue out making her giggle more.  I decided that I loved hearing that beautiful sound and I wanted to hear it more, so I began to tickle her.

"Stop! Stop!" she squealed in between laughs.  I gave in and removed my fingers from her ticklish ribs.

At this moment, I realized how close we actually were.  It seemed as if all of my senses were sharpened.  I could hear the deafening silence, smell the perfume I got her a year ago, and even feel the tension in the room.

I don't know why I did it.  I should have stopped myself.  But, I did it anyway.  I kissed her.  It was amazing. It was wonderful.  It ended all too quickly.

I opened my mouth to apologize, but was interrupted by a scream.
