-I have a very important author's note at the end of this. It explains why I haven't been updating as much. You don't have to read all of the note. I really need you to start reading at the part with the ¹ in front of the first word in the sentence-
(Lyssa POV)
I woke up to the sun shining through the window. Ugh... Go away... As my eyes adjusted to the enormous new amount of light, I looked down to see Oliver's head still on my chest as he was when I fell asleep. I smiled brightly at the sight and ran a hand through his hair. I wonder what was up with him last night? I hope he's okay. He seemed pretty upset.
I heard the floor creak and looked over to see Madame Raja in the doorway. "Wake him up for breakfast," she smiled at me before leaving towards the kitchen.
"Oliver... Wake up," I cooed gently. I don't want to wake him up. He looks so peaceful.
"Mmh," he groaned opening his eyes. "Hi..."
"Hey," I smiled at his morning voice, "Madame Raja wants us ready for breakfast."
Oliver frowned as he hugged me tighter, "But, I wanna stay here longer..."
I chuckled slightly and ran my hand through his hair before turning serious, "We also need to know what happened last night."
His eyes widened and he visibly gulped, "Do I have to?"
"If it has to do with what has been going on lately, then yes," I advised. He nodded and released me as he got up.
(Oliver POV)
I got off of Lyssa and quickly went to take a shower. I didn't sleep much last night. I was so afraid that Mark was going to come back and do something. Every single word he said about Lyssa and I was true... I'm not good enough. She will never love me.
I sighed as I got out of the warm shower, getting dressed and walking through the empty hallway to meet Madame Raja and Lyssa in the kitchen.
Lyssa smiled meekly before walking over and hugging me, "Good morning."
I blushed lightly before hugging her tightly and replying. I saw the older woman smile warmly before setting some plates on the counter, "Who wants waffles?"
Lyssa pulled away and grabbed my hand, leading me to the barstools. We ate in silence before Madame Raja spoke, "We need to talk."
"I-I know..." I shuddered and looked down at my jeans.
Lyssa rested her hand on my back gently. "What happened?" she asked softly.
"M-Mark came last night and h-he said things..." I managed to get the words out
The older woman's brows furrowed, "What things?"
"He was talking about when he r-raped Lyssa," I shuddered at the words coming out of my mouth. "He said other things, too."
Madame Raja's eyes widened before she nodded in understanding. Lyssa still appeared puzzled, "I still don't understand why he'd be visiting Oliver at night and not coming now. If he knows where we are, then why doesn't he do anything?"
The older woman sighed before replying, "There's something more you need to know..."
I looked to the young lady next to me and quirked a brow. Lyssa, who is confused as I am, shook her head at me. I grabbed her hand gently as Madame Raja led us out of the kitchen and into the dingy old library.
What has she been hiding?

Hey guys!! I know this chapter isn't very eventful, but I felt like I needed to get something done. I'm so sorry for not updating for a while. I'll explain that in a second.
One of my friends, PhantomOfWriting, is writing a new story called Among the Unknown. If the title isn't intriguing enough, the first chapter will definitely get you hooked. So, please check out her profile and her books.
¹So, I am truly sorry for not updating for so long. I've been going through a lot, lately. I've been wanting to open up about this for a while and I finally have the guts to do it, now.
I've been struggling with depression. It's hard to say and I'm nearly in tears just typing this. I've been dealing with this for a while now. At first, my YouTube channel was a good way to cope with what was happening, but I don't make videos, anymore.
It's gotten a lot harder to deal with this. Mainly, because people don't seem to notice or care. I got really bad in September and almost killed myself twice. I did cut my ankles, too. Right now, I'm trying my hardest to get better. Every day is like a fight.
It's getting harder and harder to keep updating, but I'm working on this and my two best friends and boyfriend are helping a lot. I am very sorry for not updating. This is why.
I felt like you guys deserve some kind of explanation. You should be expecting a one shot, soon if I can get to it. I hope you all are understanding of my circumstances. Thank you for sticking with me and with this book for as long as you have.
We've successfully hit 600+ reads, which absolutely astounds me. I wonder if we could get up to 1K by the time this book gets its first anniversary. Thank you all once again for everything. Please don't forget to:
