(Lyssa POV)

Oliver grabbed my hand and we started running towards the exit. We were just about to go out the door, when the mysterious man blocked our path.

"Now, that's no way to be," he teased. "Should you really treat your uncle in such manor?" The man smirked and came closer to me. He lifted my chin with his finger. "My, you're just as beautiful as your mother," he said licking his lips.

"Leave her alone!" Oliver slapped the man's hand away.

"Well, what do we have here?" the man inquired. "Lyssa I didn't know you had a boyfriend. You gonna kill him, too? Seems like you do that to everyone you care about. Including your family."

I blushed "He's not my boyfriend, so leave him out of this!" Oliver had a pained look on his face and put his arm around my shoulder protectively. "What do you know about my family anyways?" I didn't quite understand how he knew me.

"What do I know about your family?" the man laughed, "Why, I am your family." This was certainly a huge shock. "Your father never talked about his handsome older brother? I'm hurt!" he giggled. It was like this was all a joke to him.

Oliver tightened his grip on me and then realization hit, "You- You're uncle Mark..." That was a name I thought I'd never hear again.

"You're a bright one aren't you, doll face?" Mark replied stroking my jaw with his thumb. I winced at his touch.

"Get. Your. Filthy. Paws. Off. Her." Oliver stepped in pulling me to him. He's getting really overprotective. But man, does he look hot doing it...

(Oliver POV)

He's touching her again. If they're related, then why is he touching her like that? Why is he looking at her like that? This ticks me off. So, I pulled her closer to me.

"I'll leave you to it. Bye for now!" Mark said disappearing.

"Are you alright?" I asked Lyssa, sincerely concerned. "I swear if he touches you like that one more time..." I hate it. No one can touch her like that.

"Oliver, it's okay," she said crying on my shoulder. "I don't know why you care so much..." I froze. Why I care so much... I hate it when she does this...

(Lyssa POV)

Oliver consoled me for another twenty minutes. He seemed to be in a bad mood again. I had some money in my bag, so we stopped by a DQ for lunch at about 4:00. After our late lunch, we decided to head back to Oliver's place to get some rest. Mark wouldn't attack us in our sleep. He'd want us to watch. We figured we'd be safe.

Oliver kept his arm around me the whole way to his house. Even though I'm sure it was just for protection, it still mad me blush. When we reached his house, we went in through his bedroom window. We didn't want to be seen.

"Oliver?" I asked turning him towards me. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, why do you ask?" he answered briefly.

"You seem upset..." I said putting my hand on his shoulder.

"I didn't like the way he looked at you..." Oliver said, sounding embarrassed. What? "I didn't like the way he was looking at you..."

"What do you mean? The way he was touching me?" I probed.

"He wants you..." he conceded, "I can see it."

"It's okay, don't worry about it-"

"Really, Lyssa? Don't worry about it?" Oliver raised his voice before realizing what he said. "Let's just go to bed..."

"O-okay..." What's wrong? Why is he acting like this?

(Oliver POV)

As much as I wanted to sleep next to her, I knew that we weren't on the best of terms for now. I let her have the bed. I didn't mind sleeping on the floor as long as she was safe. I slowly drifted off to sleep when I heard Lyssa crying.

"W-what's wrong?" I asked, getting up to go check on her. I turned the lamp on to find that she was still sleeping. I wonder what her dream's about this time...

She was shaking and crying. She looked miserable. Oh, Lyssa... I want to make it better, I want to take it all away. But, that'll never happen. I'm just a 'good friend.'

Good friend or not, she couldn't stay like this. I put my hand on her forehead and found that she was in a cold sweat. "Lyssa... I love you," I whispered, knowing she couldn't hear me.

I crawled into bed next to her and put my arms around her. Sure enough, she calmed down.

(Lyssa POV)

I had a really bad dream last night. The image of the knife going into my mom and brother kept replaying in my mind. Then, Oliver came and took me away from all of it. That part wasn't so bad.

I opened my eyes to find Oliver's handsome sleeping face. I then notice
his arms are around me. What's going on? Am I still dreaming? He probably just did this by accident... Yeah! That's it!

He looks so sweet when he's asleep. I kiss his cheek and decide to go back to sleep moving closer to him.

(Oliver POV)

She kissed me... She really kissed me... It was on the cheek, but she still did it... And... I liked it...

I opened up my eyes to find hers looking back at me. Wow... Those beautiful blue eyes...

"G-good morning, bestie," Lyssa blushed making me smirk.

"Hey," I said staring at her.
