Regulus torpedoed into my single dorm room at about 11:30 PM. In other words, I should have been asleep, and he as well. Alas, it was not so. The bed was taken up by my kitten, Oliver, sprawled out and asleep. It had been a peaceful night. I was sprawled out on my back on the floor, trying to charm my ceiling to to do the night-sky effect that was in the great hall. My positioning could not have been more unfortunate when Regulus tripped and fell on top of me.

"Oof! Reg, what the hell are you doing?!" I exclaimed, sitting up as he got off of me.

"Sorry. But I have news! I figured out how you and Remus could talk to each other without getting the living daylight beaten out of you!" He exclaimed. I raised a brow.

"Really? How? I asked, laughing lightly. The younger boy looked like a kid on Christmas.

"Well, technically it was me and Sirius together. We-"

"Wait. You and Sirius worked together?!"

"-Yeah, I know that's what I said too! Anyway. So there is absolutely no feasible way to force Lucius and Severus to get along with the Marauders. That's a non-starter. But they both like their sleep. And obviously you don't. Lupin sneaks out regularly anyway to go to the library, so-" I cut him off.

"Wait. Your brilliant plan is for me to sneak out at night?" I confirmed. He rolled his eyes.

"Unless you can think of a way to make the mortal enemies of Hogwarts be friends, then yes. That is the plan," He said. I crossed my arms.

"It's simple. You see, I've been thinking as well. It's true that Lucius and Snape like to think of themselves as my protectors or 'parents', if you will. So they protect me, try to boss me around. But, this position comes with an advantage: They want to keep me happy, so that I don't think they are what the school says they are. So, if I want something like this, all I have to do is act like it's the only thing that will make me happy," I explained. Regulus looked at me, understanding dawning in his eyes.

"You have them wrapped around your finger," He whispered, grinning softly as I shrugged.

"It's a bit manipulative, but I need to be Remus' friend. I have to. I haven't even talked to him much, but there's just something about him..." I trailed off. Regulus smirked.

"I know exactly what you mean. So, the plan. You throw a tantrum. Say you can take care of yourself, you trust Remus to control his friends. Then, you go talk to Sirius who is willing to meet you. Make him accept and like you, and he will work on getting James and Peter on your side. Once you have all of the Marauders as friends, you'll be able to stop them from fighting with us. Then all you have to do is keep Lucius and Sev under control, and you're golden," He finished. I grinned.

"Perfect," I said, and he left to go to sleep.

Everything was falling into place to get this show back on the road.
