"Honestly. She's with Regulus. Just go up to her and talk. It's not like you've never done it before."
"Yeah, but look at what she's wearing. It's like she's mocking me. D'you reckon she knows?"
"Tell me, Moony, how on earth she could possibly know about your condition?"
"I don't know, Sirius. But look! It's like she's trying to convey a message!"
"Remus, you're being ridiculous. Go talk to her," Sirius demanded, pushing me towards her desk. We were in Ancient Runes, and not doing anything; hence why I was currently watching as Ashlynn sketched. She was in her own world, completely unaware of her surroundings. When Sirius pushed me, I sighed and walked over, sitting down.
"What're you drawing?" I asked. She jumped, before seeing me and laughing.
"Remus! You scared me! Oh, I'm just sketching this," She turned her sketchbook towards me, causing my heart to stop in my chest.
For drawn in that page, in amazing detail, was a wolf.
"That's amazing! Where did you learn to draw like that?" I praised, ignoring the panic that had set into my chest. She shrugged nonchalantly.
"I don't know, I think it's just practice; I've had lots of free time over the years so I just kind of got into it," She responded. I decided to broach the topic.
"So, uh, I've noticed that you appear to be into moons and wolves. Are you interested in werewolves, per chance?" I asked, both intrigued and panicked about her response. She smiled.
"You can tell, huh? I guess. I've gotten really interested in werewolves recently. It's so fascinating! Not to mention sad. Most werewolves are just regular good people who get labeled as monsters because of a condition! It makes me mad," She ranted. I nodded.
"I guess. But some of them are horrible and cruel," I pointed out; at this, she raised a brow.
"That doesn't mean that they should all be called monsters! For instance, imagine if you were a werewolf. According to books I've read, these people already think that they are monsters without society's viewpoint. If you were a werewolf, you'd have to deal with self hate as well as hate from society. The society only hates you because of guys like Fenrir Greyback. It's fucked up," She argued. I grinned.
"I agree. You're the first person that I've talked to recently with that viewpoint," I half-lied; I didn't really count the guys as 'recent'. She grinned.
"I tend to take the unique point of view," she joked. I changed the subject.
"So, I see you've already gotten through to Sirius," I pointed out; she saw him coming from the corner of her eye.
"Yeah, all I had to do was mention Pink Floyd and he was hooked," she spoke loudly, hoping to grab his attention. She succeeded, of course, as he turned at the mention of Pink Floyd.
"I love that band!" he exclaimed, and Ashlynn turned to me.
"Every time. Every damn time," she laughed at how easily she could get him to come over.
"Step two is getting through to James and Peter; then we are in the home stretch," she claimed. I grinned.
She was just so cute when she got excited.
