"Guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. Guy-"
"WHAT?" I snapped at James, who grinned cheekily and pointed.
"Ash is going to her friends to talk to them about us," He pointed out. I rolled my eyes.
"You mean your secret cousin that you conveniently forgot to mention? The same cousin that you bullied relentlessly for some reason that you can't tell us? That Ash?" I commented; I was still slightly bitter that neither of them had told me. He rolled his eyes.
"You have your secrets as well. Some bigger than others-" I glared at him, "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. But yes, that one." Sirius, Peter and I all looked to see Ashlynn arguing with Lucius Malfoy and Severus Snape.
"Should we go over?" Sirius asked, and I scoffed.
"Of course not, do you have a death wish? Oh look, she's coming over."
And indeed she was. She looked rather triumphant, with a defeated looking Malfoy and Snape following her. Regulus Black was also in tow, although he looked pretty pleased with himself.
"Why, hello, Ashy. Don't you look cute today? Nice hair, and oh, the sunglasses look fabulous!" Sirius teased, pinching her cheeks.
"Ugh, don't call me 'Ashy', it's weird. Thanks, I just cut my hair, and charmed it straight; I like it. I know the sunglasses are amazing. Also, you sound like my gay uncle Jared when you say I look cute. You guys even have the same haircut! Look, James. Look at the similarities between your best friend and Uncle Jared. Do you see it?" She joked, and James looked appalled.
"Holy Merlin, you're right! I never even noticed!" He exclaimed. We laughed at Sirius' grossed-out expression, and Snape cleared his throat.
"Ashlynn, is there a reason you dragged us over here?" he inquired irritably. She brightened even more, if possible.
"Oh! Yes. Okay, so here's the deal. Lucy, Sev, and Reg. You guys are my besties. And you want me to be happy, right?" She tried her best puppy dog face. The boys quickly nodded, Regulus smirking. Man, she really did have them wrapped around her finger.
"Perfect. So, if you really want me to be happy, I need you to do this." She took a deep breath, before dramatically falling at Lucius' feet.
"Pretty pretty pretty pretty please, with a cherry on top and extra whipped cream and sprinkles, be nice or at the very least cordial to Remus and his friends!" she begged, still laying in front of Malfoy and Snape.
The two looked hesitant, which did not go unnoticed by Ashlynn. Meanwhile, my friends and I weren't sure whether to laugh or not. We chose yes, and proceeded to crack up.
"Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase?" She whined, looking like a small child begging her parents for a toy. Malfoy looked at Snape, who sighed and nodded in defeat. Malfoy looked down at Ashlynn.
"Yeah, sure, whatever, I guess. As long as they do the same. And for the love of god, Ash, stand up. You're making a scene!" He complained. Ashlynn jumped up, snatching the two of them in a hug.
"You guys are the best! Thank you! That is all, go back to your brooding," She dismissed them. Regulus high fived her on his way past, and she turned to us and grinned. I raised a brow.
"It's hard to believe you're in Slytherin sometimes. Other times, it's clear why. Right now, you've just shown a bit of both," I remarked. She laughed brightly, laying next to me with her head in my lap. I looked down.
"Well, hello!" I chirped sarcastically.
"Remus, buddy old pal, how are you?" she joked. James groaned.
"Okay, who gave her sugar? I haven't seen her like this since two Christmases ago," He complained. Sirius chuckled.
"Cozying up together already, huh?" I reddened slightly.
"Sod off."
Everything was finally perfect.
Well, almost.
I still had to do something about this crush on Ash...
