Chapter 5

“What do you mean, we’re going to England?” Jennifer asked.

Rebecca glanced at her in the rear view mirror.

“We’re going to England. It’s the next place. I mean you do want to finish this all, right?” Rebecca asked.

“Well, yeah, but I never thought we’d leave the country. And where are we going to get the money for six tickets to England anyway?” Jennifer protested.

“I’ll fix it, Jennifer,” Alex told her.

“B-but---“Jennifer stammered.

“Oh, shut up, will you? I’ve always wanted to go to England,” Ava said gleefully.

"You didn't have a problem traveling in the States. What's so different now?" Ales asked.

Jennifer glanced around the car, her eyes wide and her mouth trembling slightly.

"I just... It's just... I mean it's so far away..." She answered.

Ava snickered from beside her.

"I know what the problem is," she said confidently while she stretched to her full length in the small car. "You're afraid of heights and you never been in an airplane before. Am I right?"

Jennifer was quick to shake her head in denial.

"A bit quick there, weren't you, Jennifer? I know I'm right, there's no need to deny it," Ava told her.

"Can you shut up for a minute, Ava?" Aaron complained. "We don't have time for your petty arguments right now."

Aaron sighed deeply and shut the grimoire. The book slipped off his lap and fell down to the floor of the car.

"How can you be sure we're going to England, Rebecca? I can't find anything about it in the grimoire," he said.

"Because Melanie said so," Rebecca answered, not giving away any more details.

"And who the hell is Melanie?" Ava shot in from the backseat.

"Ava..." Aaron said in a warning tone.

He began massaging his temples lightly as he turned back to Rebecca.

"She is a friend," Rebecca answered vaguely.

"She was Rebecca's trainer when we first stayed in the mansion. Melanie and Rebecca formed a bond, and Rebecca trusts her," Alex answered for her.

"And how does Melanie know anything about this prophecy thing?" Ava asked.

"She was raised by this woman who used to work with Niall. Apparently, she is a descendant from one of the three witches who captured the Great Evil in the first place," Rebecca was the one who answered this time.

"And how can we be sure Melanie isn't just playing us?" Aaron asked.

"She wouldn't," Rebecca said.

Aaron opened his mouth to protest when Alex cut it.

"Rebecca trusts Melanie, and I trust Rebecca. We're going to England," he demanded.

"Thank you," Rebecca said on a sigh. "Now, can someone tell me where the nearest airport is?"

****

Just about fifteen hours later, Rebecca basically flew out of the stuffy airport, her bag slung over her shoulder. She had never flown before, and she couldn't say she liked it either. Breathing in the fresh outdoor air, she sat down on the ground waiting for the others to catch up to her.

Jennifer was the first to come outside, only a few minutes after Rebecca. Her skin had taken on a slightly green tone and she was staggering on her feet.

"I think I'm gonna be sick, she mumbled.

Drew followed after only a few seconds later.

Jennifer almost ran over to the nearest trash can. Just as she had placed her head over the can, sounds of her vomiting disturbed the once-peaceful air.

"That's gross, Jennifer," Rebecca protested, pointedly looking away.

"I'm sorry..." Jennifer apologized as another wave of vomit forced itself up her throat.

Out of all of them, Jennifer had been the one with most trouble throughout the entire flight. While Alex had been arguing with a man who worked there, trying to get them six tickets on the next flight, which hadn't been easy, Jennifer stood as far away from the crowd as she could. Already in the airport she felt nauseas. At the time, the only thing that went through her mind was her fear of flying and being 3000 feet above ground with nothing underneath them but an unsteady metal floor. Not exactly her cup of tea.

"Nice," Jennifer could vaguely hear someone tell her.

She couldn't find the energy in her to care. She was still gripping the edge of the trash can like her life dependent on her.

"So what do we do now?" Aaron asked as he exited the airport, with Alex at his heels.

"We'll hail two cabs and meet at Stonehenge," Rebecca stated matter-of-factly.

"Why Stonehenge? «Aaron asked, still reluctant to believe anything they had heard from a person he had never met. He could already anticipate the answer though.

"Because Melanie said so," Rebecca answered and confirmed Aaron's thoughts.

"Right," he muttered.

It didn't take them long to get two taxis to stop beside them. Rebecca crawled into the cab first, while Alex opened the door on the other side and sat down. Aaron took the other seat.

"Meet us at Stonehenge, by the rocks," he told Ava before he closed the cab door.

"To Stonehenge," Rebecca told the cabdriver, and off they went.

New chapter is up :)

I hope to get these twice a week from now on, though it's not a promise. I have like three chapters and the epilogue left to write, so I hope this book will be done by the end of october. This book will be shorter than the other two, with just twenty chapters and the epilogue, just so you know.

I'll post the next chapter on saturday :)
