Chapter 7

It was raining when they arrived. Standing under the cover of the roof of the airport, it was completely silent as they tried to figure out exactly what to do next. They were in Ireland, but where exactly did they have to go to find Mag Mell?

"Well, we're here," Drew stated his gaze at the thundering rain.

They couldn't see the parking lot, as the storm covered everything in their vision.

"Mom used to say it was on the west coast," Ava said.

Alex, on her side, let out a groan.

"We're basically right in the middle, which means another few hours in a cab," he complained.

"You think it will be that easy to get a cab to drive us to the other side of the country?" Rebecca asked, looking at him in disbelief.

"We'll just have to try, won't we?" Ava replied.

"In this rain?" Aaron protested.

"Yes, and since you are the one complaining, go fetch a cab, Aaron," Ava told her older brother.

Jennifer watched from a few feet away as Aaron ran into the rain, not before sending his sister a glare. She held a hand to her stomach, trying to control the urge to puke. Her second flight hadn't been much better than the first, except it had been shorter. Though she wanted to vomit, she managed to hold it in this time around.

"Are you okay, Jennifer?"

Jennifer glanced up as she heard Drew's worried voice. She gave him a weak nod, though she could see he didn't believe her.

"I need another minute," she told them.

"Well, too bad, because Aaron just found a cab," Ava told her.

Jennifer sent the youngest girl a glare, though Ava didn't notice it. Sitting a few hours in a cab when her head was already spinning did not appeal to Jennifer. Nonetheless, she got up and walked over to the others.

"I think I can manage," she said.

Ava rolled her eyes at the response, but she decided not say anything.

Aaron walked over to them with a grin on his face.

"I say we ride in the same cab. Rebecca, Alex?" Aaron asked, though not meeting the other boy’s eyes.

The others shrugged as they began following after Aaron out into the rain, their bags slung over their shoulder.

"Oh, and Ava? I could only find one cab. Good luck finding another one," he said with a wink directed at her. "See you in Galway, okay?"

With one last smirk sent to her, Aaron led Alex and Rebecca to the cab he had found waiting at the curb. As they settled into the cab like they had in England with Rebecca in the middle, Aaron repeated the city he had said to Ava. He was sure they would find each other one way or another.

Just as the cab began its ride, Rebecca let out a loud yawn. Alex glanced at the clock on his cell. It was after midnight, and they should have gone to bed a long time ago. It had been a long couple of days for all of them. Driving through the night to get to Oregon as fast as possible, hopping on a plane to England in the afternoon, where no one had been able to sleep. Reaching Stonehenge in the late morning the next day, and getting on a plane to Ireland right after. He could understand why she was exhausted. He had begun feeling tired himself.

"Just sleep, Rebecca. We'll wake up when we reach a hotel," Alex told her softly.

Rebecca barely managed to nod before her eyes closed and she fell asleep.
