"I- I'm under arrest for murdering you."

What? Was my first thought.

First off, I'm an expert at reading people. This girl was not a criminal. It was obvious that she was a goody-two-shoes who couldn't swat a fly.

Secondly- I'm not dead. Duh. This girl was crazy.

"Murder?"

Emma nodded. "But I didn't! I swear!"

"We'll duh," I said rolling my eyes. "I'm alive."

"Well-" Emma started. Then she stopped someone in the distance and froze.

"That man." She whispered.

"What 'bout him?" I turned to look in the direction she was staring off in. I spotted a man in a long black trench coat. He couldn't have been any older than thirty. He had messy black hair and what looked to be a silver lip piercing. He was slowly walking towards us.

"He-He kidnapped me." She grabbed my wrist. "Come on! We have to go! He's dangerous!"

I pulled out of her grasp. "No, you have to go. He's not looking for me. Besides, I don't even know you! Why should I believe anything you say?!" My words came out harsher than I intended. I felt a little mean, but I forced myself to follow my number two rule for survival: Never trust anyone but yourself. I didn't know this girl. She could be some spy for Kyle.

Still, I felt bad for her. She reminded me of myself. I wanted to help.

"You go. I'll hold him off if your really so worried."

Her eyes reflected fear. "Okay. Be careful."

I smirked. "I've dealt with harder things than creeps in trench coats."

The man was only roughly ten feet away.

"Go!" I hissed.

Emma took a deep breath, than ran.

I stared after her. It had been so long since I met anyone that was kind. Sure, I just met her, but hey. I finally had a friend. Plus, I had a deep feeling that I had met her before.

A hand roughly grabbed my arm. At first I thought it was Emma.

I glanced up.

It was the man.

Evil seemed to radiate from his dark eyes. He gave me a psychotic grin.

"Sacrificing yourself for your sister? How dumb are you?"

Sister?

Than a cloth was pressed to my nose, and the world went black.
