I wake up the next morning to cement walls surrounding me.

Why am I here, and not in bed? I wonder.

Than I remember yesterday, and curse myself.

My number one rule of life is to NEVER let others see you cry. It only gives them satisfaction to see you broken.

I hear Kyle snoring on the other side of the door. Thank god for that. He could sleep through a tornado.

I open the door as quietly as possible. It screeches as I open it. I curse under my breath, but thankfully Kyle doesn't wake up.

I hop over his sleeping body and by for the front door. Liam has left, so I'm home free.

I jog out the door, praying Kyle won't follow.

Please let my luck hold, just this once? Please?

"Ivy?" A voice calls. "Where did you go?"

Sh*t. Why'd I have to jinx it?

A bolt down an ally and down countless streets. I have only seconds before he realizes I'm not in the apartment. I try to blend in to the crowds of people. My arm throbs horribly from the burn, but at least I lost him.

For now.

Blending into the crowd was easy. Getting lucky for a change, was not.

I walked for hours, pretending to be window shopping, and glaring razors into anyone who dared to glance my way. I didn't see anyone following me, but I had a sneaky suspicion I was being watched.

Across the street from me was a guy I was certain was staring. I crossed the street behind him and faked tripping so I could get a good luck at him.

It was Liam.

He pulled out his phone, and dialed a number. I could only hear snatches of the conversation.

"Yeah- Found her- Kyle- don't think- how could- Ivy- sure-."

I didn't need to hear any more.

I turned and ran.

I must've been running for over half an hour. It didn't really matter. All I could think was 'I'm not going back to Kyle. Ever. He won't catch me.'
