He aimed his gun at Emma's head.
"NO!"
I lunged at the gun ignoring the agonizing pain in my leg.
I almost had the stupid thing too, when the bullet zoomed through my stomach. I fell hard on the ground. I could hear Emma screaming. I could feel myself drifting away. It would be so easy, to just let go, to die, leaving the world behind.
But that would leave Emma by herself. I couldnt do that. Lets face it she isn't street smart. She would be dead within a minute. At least I had some experience with escape! I knew with that last thought that I had to hold on. As my vision cleared I saw Emma attacking him. If he didn't have a gun she would be good to go. But he did, and she had a hole in her arm, but she didn't seem to notice.
"YOU KILLED HER!" She screamed.
"YOU KILLED HER YOU B@STERD!"
She didn't notice that I was breathing, but neither did he. I crawled over and pulled his legs, tripping him. Emma looked down at me, amazed. If my last few minutes were used to save her, that would be okay.
"RUN!" I screamed
She refused.
"LEAVE ME! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M ALREADY DEAD! GO!" And she did go, but not before scooping me up. And with that I passed out.
