JACK
"What a hypocrite." Merida scowled as the gang walked down the hallway. "She told me not to use any gadget at school. Might've been embarrassing for her when her cell phone rang."
"Tell me about it." Rap seconded as she flipped her long blond hair that lengthen about her waist. "You know how teachers transform into monsters-!" she stopped talking when she noticed Hiccup busy doing something. "Hiccup, are you even listening?"
Hiccup fixed his eyes on Rap and then mouthed, "Girls..." at me.
"Whatever, Hiccup. Go and read your encyclopaedia somewhere else." Rap demanded, rolling her eyes at him.
"This isn't an encyclopaedia, Rap." Hiccupreplied, closing his book. "It's a book about dragons."
I gave a small cackle which made Hiccup nudge my elbow. It didn't even hurt a bit. What a wimp, though he's my best friend.
"Don't you ever get tired of those?" I said, grinning at the two girls. Merida nodded, boyishly in agreement, her curly thick red hair bouncing with her head.
"Dragons are just a bunch o' giant lizards." Merida added, coolly, snatching Hiccup's book from his fingers.
"Giant lizards that breathe fire!" Hiccup corrected. "They're amazing, fascinating creatures."
"Ugh," Rap groaned, dramatically slapping her face while shaking her head. "This again. Can't we just have a day without one of your boring lectures, professor?"
I laughed at the three of them who were merely arguing about Hiccup's obsession about dragons. To me, we were just a group of hipsters who were winded up together by friendship. But to the whole student body, we were the most intimidating, most famous, and the biggest group at Richmond High. They officially named us "The Big Four" which we somehow liked.
Rapunzel Hart, A.K.A Rap, certified cheerleader and drama queen. She's one of the school's prettiest faces. She had this very long blond hair which actually stole every guy's attention, like me. We dated once but both didn't really take the relationship too seriously. At least we both had the same feeling that we could be friends, instead. Because of our friendship, I found out she wasn't the usual girly cheerleader. If only they knew how much of a weirdo she was other than her name.
Merida Macklemore, the one I mistaken as a tomboy. She's actually Scottish but her family left Scotland and moved here by the age of ten. At first, it was really hard to talk to her with her rough Scottish accent, but the longer we spent time together, the more I get used to it. She usually wore a beanie because of her red, bush-like hair. She's the kind of girl who's in to a lot of boy stuff like skate boarding, but her favourite thing to do was archery.
Higgins Banccup, but the gang calls him 'Hiccup', a combination of his first name and surname. Out of all of us, he was pretty much the geeky one. He likes reading books, although only the sci-fi ones. But he had been spending a lot of time reading about dragons, lately. He wore glasses before, but he stopped using them, eventually, which I think makes him look more appealing. Everything about him is quite geeky, except for his Dad, Mr. Banccup, who looked like a ruthless barbarian. But Mr. Banccup is actually cheeky rather than a brute although he could be a little barbaric.
And then there's me, Jack Austin. Some students call me 'Jack Frost' because of my pale complexion and icy white hair. My hair wasn't really white before, it was actually dark brown. But I dyed it, anyway. My Mom became really mad and grounded me. Even my school became alarmed, thinking that I might've taken drugs or something. But the only main reason I did that was to avoid being told that I looked a lot like my Dad. I thought that it was the only way to forget about him. I don't really like to talk about it. I hate him.
Because of my hair, my bad boy image went to its highest peak. In that image, a lot of girls are dying just to look at my face, while a lot of dudes, especially the jocks, had a grudge about me having all the attention. Mom got used to my look and even said I looked quite handsome now, but quickly took it back by saying that it still didn't excuse me from looking like a punk.
Hiccup, Rap, and Merida, the three people that I'm not afraid to be with. The people that understand who I was. The only set of people that know my whole story. The people I trust the most.
Everybody parted when we walked their way. They always turn their heads just to look at us. I hear girls squeal as I walk past them, which I'm already used to. Nobody dared to get in our way because we are "The Big Four".
