ELSA
"C'mon, Elsa! The school bus is here, already!" Anna called out from downstairs. I sighed in exasperation, thinking if I would ever fit in.
I opened the door and flung my backpack on my shoulder. I already hear the bus's engine about to leave. On the way downstairs, I see opened boxes just lying around the corner. Some of our stuff was still in it but there were so many that we couldn't get them all out on the same day we moved in to this house.
When she saw me already running down the stairs, she glared at me.
"Just a second," I told her, while running. But right after I could even leave, my Mom popped out of nowhere.
"Don't forget to smile. Your new school couldn't afford a long face." She reminded me while she handed out my pocket money.
"I don't even know why we even have to move," I grumbled. "Our old one was far better."
She didn't seem to hear what I said and just continued brushing my hair. She gathered my hair to the side and kissed me on my forehead.
"Elsa," Anna called, impatiently, her right hand on her hip.
I gave Mom a kiss good bye and followed Anna inside the school bus. When I finally entered, I saw Mom waving at me and gently closed the door. After that, I tried looking for a decent seat but all seemed to be unavailable. I started to look for Anna if she found a seat, but unfortunately, she already had her own gang and sat with them.
This is what I hate about moving. You always had to fit in before they welcome you to their herd. New house, new school, but no new friends, which really sucks.
I was already at the back part of the bus and the only seat left was between a round boy who was busy picking his nose and another one whose zits are overpopulating his face. I had no choice but to sit between them and wallow at how lousy my day was starting.
What would I pay just to go back to our old house and hang out with my old friends back at school? If it meant living alone at our old deserted house, I'd say it'll be better than being squeezed by two oversized pigs that smelled as though deodorants still haven't been invented yet.
The more kids that enter, the more out-of-place I was, just sitting at the edge. Paper planes started to soar around the bus, bullies started doing their daily regimen, nerds sweat while trying to avoid the bullies, girls who don't know the word, 'conservative' began flirting with a couple of jocks, how bad can this be?
The bus screeched which is a clear sign that we've arrived. Everyone still continued what they were doing while getting out of the bus. They all scattered in different directions which made me confuse of where to go.
I walked alone and entered the hall with low self-esteem. They all had their own groups that they don't seem to notice me. Well, who would even notice someone unnoticeable like me? Probably no one but the wind.
This is it. Welcome to hell, Elsa.
While walking, the speaker, hanging at the top of the lockers suddenly chimed in.
"Elsa Hansen, please report to the principal's office, NOW."
Everybody looked around and stopped what they were doing when they heard the announcement.
"Who's Elsa Hansen?" A girl asked.
Her friend answered rather in an insulting voice, "I don't know who she is. Must've broken some rules or something. I don't know. Who cares?"
Nobody was moving, so when I approached the principal's office just around the corner, eyes had followed me until I got inside the office. I was a little shaky, thinking of any rule I had broken. I mean, I just arrived from the school bus nine minutes ago. What possible rules could I have violated in just a matter of minutes?

When I got out of the office, the bell had already rung and that the hallway was already empty. The reason that the principal called was to welcome me and other businesses. She told me that I should catch up with the lessons because I enrolled in the mid of school days. She handed out some kind of papers and told me to report to my first subject which was History, my least favourite subject, how convenient.
I thought I was the only one left in the corridors, but as I made my way to History class, I felt someone walking behind me.
When I slowly turned my head, I saw a boy with freakishly pale skin and white hair. I quickly turned away and nervously walked. I don't know if he was following me or anything. I just hoped that I could find the classroom that I was looking for. I've already walked for a very long time, but the boy was still behind me. For a moment there, I became more nervous, but I don't know why. When I couldn't take it anymore, I suddenly looked at him.
"What?" he arrogantly said when I turned my head. I looked at him, sternly.
"Would you stop following me?" I finally said.
It took him time for him to understand what I said and then replied, "Following you?" His thin lips curved into a grin.
"Y-yes!" I said, nervously. "I was only making my way t-to History class and there, I found you following me! What's your deal?"
His grin grew bigger as he leaned closer to my ear which made me more nervous. "History class? I'm going in the same route as you are." He whispered in a deep, raspy, and cold voice that made me shiver. His face was only inches away from mine.
I was scared of what he was going to do next because he was really close to me. I nervously closed my eyes, waiting for what was going to happen next. But then, I heard the door click, turns out he was only opening the door behind me.
"You think I'd do that to you?" he said incredulously as he moved away and completely opening the door. I flushed in humiliation. I looked up at the label of the door, it read, HISTORY CLASS, under it was, Mr. Clavius Rodriguez written at the bottom.
I really thought he was following me, turned out he was attending the same class as mine. He entered, first, after a couple of seconds, I came in next. When I did, a man with tanned skin and almost-bald head turned at the boy with white hair.
"Mr. Austin," he called. He talked in a Mexican accent, though. Maybe that's why he had a Latino surname. He didn't seem to notice my presence and kept his attention to the boy.
"Glad you'd be joining us, today. Yesterday, you didn't attend my class. Why is that?"
"I didn't feel like listening to your lectures about the History of the United States." The boy answered straight-to-the-point. The girls in the class began to giggle but quickly fell silent when the Mexican dude glared at them. He was about to rebuke the statement but the boy quickly cut him off, "It seems like you have a new student."
They all turned to me, who had been standing next to a globe. While Mr. Rodriguez was still distracted by me, the boy simply sat on an empty chair at the very back of the room and there I saw him smirk.
"Oh," he said. "Please introduce yourself to the whole class and write your name on the board."
