sunday, five days after

We walk down to the bridge and talk about life. It's 6pm before we know it and I remembered I promised Louis I would make him a playlist of my favourite music and we'd have a movie marathon.

"Hey Michael," I say. "I'm a little tired. Let's head home."

He smiles at me and nods. We walk back to the car and drive back home. I fall asleep to the sound of soft indie music playing on the radio.

I snuggle around and realize I'm in somebody's arms. I pretend to sleep to try to hear anything important.

They walk around into a room with bright lights. It burns into my lids.

"Are you okay?" I hear somebody whisper.

"Yeah, she just fell asleep in the car. I was just gonna put her to bed."

Michael and Louis.

"Oh, I'll take her."

"Nah, it's okay. I got this."

"No, she's no problem. I can take her."

There's slight hesitation with Michael but he hands me over to Louis and I'm taken into a room, mine assumably.

"Jos, I know you're not asleep."

My eyes flutter open and I see the sparkling eyes staring at me. He flashes his golden smile and I melt a little inside. Am I supposed to feel like this?

"Hey," I mumble.

"You still up for that movie night? And I know it's somebody's 19th birthday tomorrow.. I checked the student page at HCH..." He trails off. A smile breaks on my face. I roll my eyes and I pull him into a hug.

"Thank you," I whisper. I've never felt more at home.

"Um, that was creepy. He got arrested. That's so weird. They went into different dimensions or something! That's so sad because it's just a repeat of what happened when they were younger except he's alone now and she's dead!"

I laugh and shush him. We're watching Oculus and cuddled up on my bed. The crunch of popcorn fills the silent room now that the girl is dead.

That was pretty terrifying except it gave me the excuse to hide behind Louis and have him "protect" me. Although I have to say, I think I was pretty brave. I only covered my eyes thirty seven times.

His arm was still wrapped around my arm and I lean my head on his shoulder. "Good movie."

He nods before looking down at me and checking his phone.

"Happy birthday, Josephine. You're finally nineteen!"

I look at the numbers on his phone, and 00:00 September 13th, 2016 pops up. I clap my hands and dance around.

"Yay!" I yell and giggle. Then I fall on to the bed and get back up to drag Louis up.

Louis hugs me and I hug him back. My feelings explode out and I dance around with him.

Suddenly, he stops and holds my face with both hands. He makes me look at him and he stares right into my eyes. He leans in and I wonder if this will beat my first kiss with Shawn Mendes from Socials with Mrs. Bennett in grade six. Or if it'll beat my make outs with Harry.

Oh my god, he's going to kiss me.

I feel the heat between us and I close my eyes as he hovers over my lips. We get closer and--

"Louis!"

Damn it all. Screw everyone.
