"You are my sunshine... My only sunshine...You make me happy...When skies are grey...
You'll never know, dear... How much I love you... So please don't take... My sunshine...
                             Away..."
Jeremy shot open his eyes, he wiped his mouth feeling a little drool dripping from his lip with his jacket sleeve then sat up. The teen looked at his watch and saw the time was 9 AM. He looks around to see he was still waiting in the waiting room of the hospital. Jeremy hasn't slept for a good 26 hours. He sighed then rubbed his eyes until a man with a clipboard came up to the teen.
Jeremy lifted his head up toward the man waiting for him to speak.
"Alright, you can see her now Mr. Fritzgarald" the man finally spoke to the teen. Jeremy nodded then rushed to her room picking up the flowers on the other chair. When he knocked on her door he heard a warm voice respond.
"Come in...!"
Jeremy stepped inside and gave his mother a warm smile, well at least he tried. Jeremy saw the tubes in her nose and hearing her heart meter beeping every second. He stepped toward her and sat on the edge of her bed.
Her face lit up once she saw her son.
"Oh sunshine..." Mrs. Fritzgarald spoke with her voice weak and exhausted. She lifted her hand onto Jeremy's cheek seeing how exhausted he was but Jeremy didn't care about himself at all.
"M-mom...? A-are you o-okay? I-I heard w-what happened..." Jeremy said with his smile fading away with his expression low and upset as he saw his exhausted mother still giving him a smile.
"I'm fine baby... I promise I'll be better before you know it..." She tried to assure her son who was about to shed hot tears down his face. Jeremy then reached out and hugged her but not to tight. He could feel warm arms wrap around his back and fingers stroke through his hair softly. Jeremy could hear her heartbeat, her warm, gentle heartbeat.
"I-I'm scared... W-what if... What if y-you don't get b-better? I-I don't want to loose you...! I-I need you m-mom... Please hang on..." Jeremy begged feeling something wet drip from his cheek. All his mother could do was hug tighter onto him tighter digging her fingers deeper into Jeremy's soft head.
"I'll try sunshine... I'll try..." She said weakly trying not to shed any tears.
The hug lasted for what felt like forever until a women's voice spoke.
"Mr. Fritzgarald... Visiting hours are over, you need to let your mother rest" the nurse ordered as she entered through the two hugging mother and son.
Jeremy just couldn't let go he didn't want to but he did it anyways. He wiped his wet and exhausted eyes and held his mothers hand. She gave her sun a warm smile then spoke.
"Don't worry sunshine... I'll be fine..."
Jeremy nodded then let go of her hand slolwy as he left the room. His mother then grabbed the flowers from the side of the bed then sniffed the Bouquet of roses and smiled. Jeremy finally left the room looking down and sighing still feeling tears stream down his face. He walked to the waiting room and exited out of the hospital.
Jeremy then began to walk home. He lifted his wrist and saw the time 9:58 AM, Jeremy sighed then continued walking down the sidewalk toward his house. He wiped his eyes and let out a yawn trying not to fall asleep right on the spot. He was so distracted about so much that was going on, he wasn't even paying attention to anything else at all.
He then bumped into someone who was in front of him and let out gasp.
"O-oh! I-I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" The teen exclaimed backing away feeling embarrassed.
" Its fine-" the man paused once he looked down at the teen.
Jeremy looked up and realized it was his coworker. There was an awkward silence until Mike rolled his eyes letting out a groan then bumps into the teens arm walking away. Jeremy sighed then held his arm feeling a little heat rush to his head then continued walking down to his house.
Once he arrived he entered inside and then walked to his room then laid on his bed. Jeremy stared at the ceiling then put his hands on his face sighing. He stayed there for almost the rest of the day and fell asleep around 3 PM in the afternoon.
Everything seemed to be falling apart for the teen. He was hated by almost everyone he ever met, now the only person he could ever cry to or come home to, is now in the hospital, going through cancer. He had no one to talk to anymore. What did he do to deserve all of this?
He slept for what felt like hours but it was only till 1 in the morning. His sleep schedule was all mixed up, he shook his head then laid his head back down on his pillow trying to fall asleep again. Finally after a good 20 minuets he fell asleep.
Hours passed, it was 9 in the morning. The teen woke up from the sun peering through his curtains into his eyes. He sat up and rubbed his emerald green eyes and let out a yawn. He looked around his empty room and sighed, it wasn't the same. It seemed colder, more empty, it was loneliness. Jeremy couldn't stand the silence so he got up and decided to get ready for the day then go out for some fresh air, to get his mind off of everything if it was possible. He brushed his hair, his teeth, then put in some clean cloths. Before he took off his shirt he took out his phone from his pocket and placed it on his night stand. Once the teen was done he grabbed his phone placing it in his jacket pocket then grabbed his house key and walked outside locking the door behind him.
The sun peered through the grey clouds with the breezy wind blowing through the teens face. He rubbed his eyes then started walking down the driveway onto the sidewalk. The neighborhood was as silent as mice, all that was heard was the sound of birds morning chirps and rustling trees from the breezy wind.

"It's a beautiful day today" Mrs. Fritzgarald commented as she inhales the fresh air while holding her 8 year old sons tiny hand.
Jeremy nodded agreeing with his mother.
"Alright, let's be on our way to the park now shall we Sunshine?" His mother asked looking down at the 8 year old. Jeremy nodded again smiling at his mother.
She bent to his height then kissed her sons forehead giving a warm smile. Jeremy smiled then hugged his mother. They then stopped hugging and continued there way toward the park holding hands.
__________
Jeremy walked down the street and saw the park across the street then glanced at the empty swing set swaying back and forth in the breeze and the empty bench and started to break a smile from memories of the past, then saw a mother and son start to enter the park looking as happy as ever. Jeremy watched as the mother placed her son on the swing then push him up and down on the swing. The child started laughing along with his mother. Jeremy couldn't stand it, he ran back to his house feeling burning tears run down his face he unlocked the door then slammed the it running to his room. He laid on his bed putting his pillow in front of his face tightening his fingers into the pillow bringing his knees up to his chest. He laid there for about two hours until he heard a vibration for his phone. He reached his hand in his pocket and took out his phone. He reviewed a text from an unknown number.
Hello Mr. Fritzgarald, this is Adam Wilson of the Child Safety Department, we have received news about your mother, Mrs. Fritzgarald, and how she is not able to care for you at the moment, which means you have no one to look after you, so you are to now move in with your father Jonathan Fritgarald. Thank you for reading, you have approximately one month to gather your belongings and escort them to the home of your father.
Jeremy's face was in pure horror. Ever since he was at least three years old, he was abused by his father, until him and his mother were finally able to move out. Now, he had to go back to the house where he was yelled at, abused and mistreated. Everything was all going to hell. There was officially no one to go to, no one to talk to.
Jeremy had no one.
