Percy Jackson meets... the Avengers?

Chapter 16

Tony's POV

I stood there frozen to the spot, not able to tear my eyes away from the... screen? Rainbow? Projection? Well, that thing. Although even as I watched Percy's life I couldn't help but think that a lot of the details were excluded for our benefit. I looked at Percy quickly to compare him to the screen, right now it is showing us the Labyrinth, but there wasn't much of a difference except the small gap in age. The one big thing though were the eyes. The present Percy looked broken but the image in the rainbow Percy looked fine. I looked back to the screen but I couldn't help but notice that he was curled up into a ball sitting on the floor crying, the emo boy was comforting him but didn't seem to be doing a good job. I wanted to go and comfort him myself but what could I say. I watched the rest of the story without complaint right the way through to the present when the rainbow disappeared.

"So you actually have powers and did all... that," I asked. I know it seems obvious but I couldn't believe it.

"Yeah," He said simply not looking up.

"Um, do you know where your mum is?" Natasha asked quietly. If it was possible Percy got even sadder.

"No... they, the gods, said they would tell me when they locate her. So far nothing. I don't want to get the campers involved, too many of them have died."

I looked over to Bruce who was looking at the boy in pity.

"Okay, no more today. Percy needs a break." Bruce said not looking away from Percy. After he said that he walked over and was about to help Percy to his feet when the boy, Nico, sent him a glare. Bruce took a step back then redirected his gaze so it was solely on Percy "Come on. I know your tired and you can't function like this. I would like you to sleep in my lab with the screen wires attached so we can see what's happening and so I know what's wrong. Please?"

"Fine," Percy said tiredly with a small nod. Nico helped Percy to his feet and they walked off with Bruce trailing behind. I was about to follow when Natasha held me back.

"Let them go. After what we just saw I doubt he needs all of us crowding around watching him sleep." She said. I sighed dejectedly and agreed heading off to get back to working on my suit.

Percy's POV

I was glad only Bruce and Nico were here. Natasha was right, I couldn't handle having everyone around me at the moment. I was so tired that I hadn't even noticed we'd already reached the lab. I was about to walk over to where I was meant to sleep when I noticed Chaos standing in the room blocking my path. I looked at him questioningly and he smiled sadly. I looked back at Nico to tell him it was alright. In hindsight I probably should have told this to Nico but there was nothing he could do now. "It's fine Nico," I said with a smile. Nico looked nervous, I would if I walked into a room and saw a guy I didn't know with a strong powerful aura around him. I turned back around to Chaos and gave him a questioning look.

"Percy, I know how much you suffer and I am here to help. Of course the fates may come and do this anyway but at least I am giving you a choice. As you are now, the tortures in your mind will get worse and it will show on your body. As you know, they aren't just in your mind. It will eventually drive you insane." Chaos said ignoring the fact that Bruce was here as well.

"I already am." I answered bitterly.

"No Percy, you are broken, you have PTSD, and you have suffered. No matter what you decided I can't change that. You will always remember and will probably always have flashbacks from it, but at least they won't have a physical effect on you." Chaos said then hesitated.

"What are you getting at Chaos?" I asked again in the same tone.

"I think you should become a God. But that won't be enough to help with the problem you have with Tartarus. The other Gods would not offer this but I am not any other God. I could make you an Olympian. You would no longer be bothered by Tartarus and because of who you are and the power you would have, you wouldn't have to obey the ancient laws. You could still help on earth. Go on quests at camp, help the avengers. You..." Chaos said getting quicker and quicker.
