Afterlife

" Will you promise me, that we will be together even in the afterlife? " She rested her head on my shoulder.

" I promise, darling. " I kissed her forehead, and caress her hair.

It was the very happy moment of our marriage.
We have been dating for almost 3 years.
Then, I decided it would be the time for me to propose her.

We had a happy marriage.
Until one day, doctor diagnose that we couldn't have a child.
I was shocked, and dumbstruck at the time.
I thought we will have a perfect family.
The picture of a happy family shattered right away.
We always argue at each other after that.

After the news, her health got worse.
She never spoke, and rarely eat.
She can't even sit due to sore in her back.
That was the most devastating moment of my life.

Even though I do this, I am still beside her in her final days.
She died, after one year of severe sickness.
No treatment could cure her.
I was glad that she was finally free from her suffering.

Years passed, and I was alone.
I meet a girl, she worked at a coffee shop.
She was really kind to me.
We began to date, and I feel fond towards her.

Years later, we are married.
I was tired after a long day of work, and jumped into my bed.
It was the second day of my marriage.
And, I feel happy.

I hugged her from behind, but she looked pale.
Her body is cold.
I looked over to see her face.
And, her face was shocked in fright.
I checked her pulse, to find out that she was no longer alive.

I was terrified, bewildered, shocked, angry, and distressed.
What is happening?
Why would there be another disaster in my marriage life?
I thought I could have a perfect family.

Not long after, a subtle voice that I familiarly known talked to me.
She was holding a knife, and hugged me from behind.

" Darling, she is gone. I told you not to cheat! Now fulfill your promise for being together in the afterlife. "
Her grip is getting tighter, I feel hurt.
Her voice turned threatening and deadly as she leans the knife to my chest.
