Amber buried her face in her hands, slumping down the wall, muffling her sobs so that she wouldn't wake Aidan. What had she done? Had she really gone through with it? Had she wanted this? After a few minutes, she couldn't control the sobs, and emitted a small yelp. The small noise caused Aidan to stir and he woke up, dazed. He collected his thoughts, his head pounding, and heard the muffled sound of crying from the bathroom. Suddenly, he realised what had happened. He stood up, pulled on his pants, and ran to the bathroom. He peered into the bathroom and saw Amber, curled up and sobbing. He rushed to her, crouching down and resting his hand on her shoulder. Without hesitation, she swatted his hand away, sinking further into herself. He knew he had messed up, and wrapped his arms around her strongly but gently. She turned, hitting his chest angrily, still sobbing. "Shhh," he said, still holding tightly as she beat him, "Shhhh." Eventually, she relapsed and cried into his bare chest, letting him hold her. "I'm sorry," Aidan whispered, "I'm so sorry." She hadn't wanted this. He knew that before. He didn't mean for any of this to happen. He wanted to take it all back.
