Amber took a few deep breaths in an attempt to stop the buildup of tears in her eyes, and she succeeded with this. She was just a ball of anger and distress, and charged down the street, unsure of where she was going, but unwilling to turn back around. After a few minutes, she found herself in a side of Dublin that was unknown to her. The adrenaline high that she had been on was finally sinking in, and she now took in her unfamiliar surroundings. A headache started to creep into her skull as her emotions began to wear off and a bit of fear began to set in. Deeming it unwise to stop then, she continued walking, aimlessly wandering around Dublin, watching the sun as it dipped below the skyline.
The dank streets illuminated only by dim street lamps, Amber kept walking well into the night, not even registering how tired, sore, and hungry she was. Realising that her best choice would be to find a hotel, she headed in the direction of the closest one, preparing to cross the nearly empty street. Suddenly, she felt a small buzz in her pocket. Pulling out her phone, she saw that she had received a text from Aidan. She didn't even have time to read it before she took a step into the road, and immediately felt the impact of metal against her body. The car sped off as Amber lay unconscious in the street, her shattered phone a mere ten feet away, still reflecting the text.
