She thought that she was going to be able to confront him and tell him that enough was enough, but actually being in that situation, she couldn't bear it. His soft hazel eyes pleaded with her to give him another chance as he just stood there, staring at her, waiting for her to speak. But she'd already given him too many chances. She turned away from him and headed upstairs. She quickly changed her clothes and packed a small bag. She ran back down the stairs, past Aidan, and headed for the door. "Amber, please," he said, rushing past her and in front of the door. "Please don't leave. Please. I'm sorry. Please. It won't happen again." "That's what you said last time," she mumbled, pushing him away. He was too dumbfounded to resist. Before he could get another word in, she looked at him. "I'm leaving. When you can learn to sober up, then I'll come back. But I'm not doing this. I'm not." With that, she opened the door and started walking down the street, tears stinging her eyes. She didn't turn to look at him as she walked away, and he couldn't pull his eyes away until after she was gone. Aidan's feet had been glued to the floor, but he wanted to run after her and beg her to come back. But he knew her, and he knew she wouldn't listen. He shut the door and slid down it onto the floor, burying his head in his hands. "Goddammit, Aidan," he said to himself, beating his hand on his knee.

What the hell was he supposed to do now?
