When she awoke next, Aidan was still right beside her. He was slumped over to the side, completely asleep. She giggled softly at him. "Damn, he's cute," she thought, "How did I end up with him?" She pushed the thought out of her mind, realising she was much too tired to even think about it. He had released her hand sometime in the night, so she reached up and weakly stroked his cheek, his stubble scratching her delicate hand. He seemed distressed, even in sleep, and she couldn't help but wonder what he was worrying about in his dreams. She'd survived the accident, after all, so what could he worry about?

In his dream, he replayed the scene over and over. Amber walking out, away from him. The sound he imagined as the car slammed into her frail body. The lies he told her that he could never take back. His subconscious self was telling him in sleep that this would come back to haunt him eventually.
