This time, Amber kissed him back. After a few moments, they both pulled away. "Aidan," Amber began, clearing her throat, "I haven't been able to speak much because I'm just too nervous. I've loved you since before you even knew I existed. So being here with you sends me through a loop, you know?" "I understand. But I need you to know that if you want me to, I will be here for you," Aidan smiled. "Okay," she said. Aidan turned on the car and paused, "So, where am I going?" "Shit," she whispered, "I have nowhere to go." Her eyes watered, the reality of the situation sinking in. "Hey, hey," Aidan comforted her, "It's okay. Don't cry. Please don't cry. I'm driving home. You can stay with me for as long as you like." "I don't want to impose on you. You've already done so much," she choked out. "Nonsense," he replied, driving down the street, "I want you to."

For the next three days, Amber slept in Aidan's bed while he slept on the sofa. She felt awful doing it, but he was so adamant about it. She spent all day looking for a new flat, but there were few options available in her price range. She was becoming so frustrated with everything, and didn't know what to do with anything anymore.

On the fourth day, Aidan called her into the kitchen, handing her a cup of hot chocolate as he sipped his coffee. "What's going on?" she asked, terrified that he now realised he made a huge mistake in letter her live there, that everything was a mistake, and that he would kick her out. "I've really enjoyed having you here," he said, surprising her, "I'd like to ask you to move in. As flat mates."
