Chapter 16

Chris's POV

"So, how was your weekend?" I asked Amy. We were on our way to our classes, me to science and she to math.

"Oh, you know, the usual. I need you to come over soon. I've missed you," she whispered. I smiled at her, but in my head I was dying. I really hate her. There. I admitted it. Sometimes she can be such a pain in the butt, and even though she's a great kisser, I can't stand her. The only reason I date her is for the popularity.

We went our separate ways and I entered the classroom, sitting in the seat in front of Katie. Its great to say her name, knowing that I called her mystery girl for four days.

"Hi."

"Hey," she murmured. Her eyes were misty, like she was about to cry. And there were dark circles under her eyes.

"What's wrong? You never told me why you were crying yesterday."

"Oh, um, something just happened. With Matt," she sniffled. Anger piled inside me, but I pushed it all down, trying to appear calm.

"What did he do?" I gently asked, staring at the beautiful, hazel eyes.

"He kissed another girl," Katie whispered, tears starting to form.

Katie's POV

I couldn't tell Chris that Amy and Matt were kissing. Chris would get mad, and it seems like he and Amy are still getting along. She didn't tell him.

"He kissed another girl?" Chris asked, shaking his head. He looked angry, and I know he hates Matt now.

"I could punch him if you want," he smiled, imitating a punch. I laughed, and he laughed too.

"Please. Don't worry about it. I no longer like him," I whispered. I had washed off his number last night (Sammie actually did it, because I was too busy crying).

"OK, just tell me when you're feeling sad or if he's bothering you. I can give you the best day of your life."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, uncertain. If he means making-out sessions, I'm out.

"Tacos by the shore, walking through the park, etcetera," he said. I smiled.

"What about today, during lunch?"

"Sure. Be ready for an awesome lunch with Chris Parker," he whispered, and the teacher walked in the classroom.

I can't wait.
