Chris's POV
I skipped lunch. I couldn't face Katie, so I went to the football field to practice kicks. As I entered the locker room, I picked up the football with my name on it. The one I lost and Katie found. I smiled and went outside.
When I kicked the ball, it went so far that I had to run fast to get it. Ever since I got my football back, my kick has been better. I practiced for twenty minutes until Matt Garner appeared in the bleachers.
"Dude, come over here for a sec," he yelled. I shook my head, trying to conceal my anger for him. He kissed some girl and that made Katie mad. When I reached him, I ran my fingers through my hair.
"What do you want?" I sneered.
"I just want to know why you've been hanging out with Katie," he frowned. I smirked.
"She told you? Well, maybe I should ask you why you kissed another girl behind Katie's back."
"Oh, man, that's it. You're gonna get it."
Matt moved first, about to punch my face, but I took his arm and twisted it. That was a wrong decision. He used his other arm and it came in contact with my nose.
I screamed a few curses as the pain coursed through my body. I touched my nose, and blood was on my hand. Matt stared at my nose and looked down at his hand, dumbfounded. Then he backed away.
"Oh my god, I'm . . . I'm so sorry," he mumbled, tripping on the bleachers. He turned and ran.
"Screw you," I whispered, heading to the nurse's office with one hand covering my bloody nose.
