"Wali I have kept your shirt and pants on the couch and please put the towel back in the washroom!"I called out to him after knocking the door to the washroom and before I could turn they slid a bit revealing his face and a bit of his shoulder while his body hidden behind the translucent door and I didn't even dared to look down, their was a smirk on his face and before I could say a thing he shook his head spraying shampoo froth around, "Ya Allah! You are worst than a kid! Look we are really getting late--"
"Do you actually think that you would not be repeating yourself again in less than twenty minutes?" He grinned wider than before.
"Wali Zulfiqar Ahmed not today! I am serious, okay?" I glared at him knowing all too well that the action won't work on him, even a bit, since the time we woke he had been mischievous making us late enough that I am getting calls from Rafia after every few minutes. "I am serious," I pleaded making him frown in return, from past one week I have been busy with Rafia as her due date is aproaching and I am the only family she has here so I am spending days with her so that her husband could end his office work before taking paternal leave.
"I don't like your cousin and I can actually vanish mine from the face of earth!" he threatened.
"Just few more days, she is worried because khala and khalu can't be here, they haven't got the visa. I am the only family she has!" I pouted in reply trying to make my stubborn and impatient husband understand.
"They should owe their child to us!"
"Hurry up!" I pushed him back cutting our washroom conversation in half and running back downstairs to get everything ready.
I sighed when I put last of the parathas on the plate and poured juice for both of us after calling Wali for the numerous time, if it weren't for him we would have been out of the apartment by now, I bit my lip thinking about our short but intimate moment which we shared this morning, shaking my head I quickly drank a glass of water to calm my erratic heart beat, thank God he wasn't here yet or he must have teased me endlessly about it.
I turned to look at the stairs when I heard him coming downstairs, smiling at him I stood up unconsciously and moved towards him, it fills my heart with pure joy and pride when I see him walking around, last few months have been quite hard on us and I clearly remember the day he started walking around just with the help of a cane, ecstatic wouldn't even begin to define our happiness; our eyes were filled with the tears of gratitude while I was continuously muttering duas, it was the joy of getting something you have asked for a long time and we certainly did, every sajood I asked for his health and looking at him I felt content and then it wasn't long when he was back again on his feet.
"I know that I look insanely handsome but your smile is doing no good but boosting my ego!" He smirked while whispering huskily in my ears successfully earning a gasp from me, leaving me with wide eyes and heated cheeks. "Let's have breakfast, shall we?" his smirked didn't disappeared when he moved forwards and dragged my chair for me, taking slow step towards it I sat without moving my eyes away from his playful smile.
After few seconds when he was busy eating as nothing have happened while my appetite was long gone and I was getting anxious due to sudden change in his behavior today I decided to ask, or more like state, "You are not yourself today!"
"You are blaming me?" he asked nonchalantly.
"No... I mean... What's going on?"
"Are you doubting my intentions, Mrs. Ahmed?" he mocked an hurt expression and to play his own game I shrugged. "well, well, well..."
