2 Months later

"Ba Ba Ba Ba," Ahyan continuously chanted while I was giving directions to one of the waiters. Now being a complete twelve months old he knows how and when to get everyone's attention, he doesn't throw tantrum because he is well aware that a slight turn of his neck and by blinking his eyes, he would have everyone wrapped around his little fingers.

"Jee buddy?" I turned to face him as he started patting my face with his little hands.

"Boyee?" He turned his back to point at all the green and yellow balloons decorating the entire garden where his first birthday was being held.

"Balloons?" I narrowed my eyes at him and he turned his neck on one side while giving me a heartwarming smile. "We have to ask mama for it." I shook my head, suppressing my smile as his lips turned into a pout.

"Boyee?" he said once again and I shook my head.

"First give baba an uwah (kiss)," smiling, he quickly placed his lips on my cheeks, "Now let's see what baba can do." Walking towards where the main gathering was held my eyes looked for my wife and after a couple of minutes I saw her talking to Abeer, dressed in green shade saree she had my eyes roaming after her.

"Is there a problem?" I asked with my eyebrows raised at both of them as I placed my one hand on Khadija's slender waist.

"Murtaza Bhai is running late and he is the one to bring all the goody bags!" Abeer shook her head and I smirked.

"Cut the poor guy some slack!" I smirked and just then we heard little Khadija's voice, as the three of us turned we found the little girl who was dressed in white and yellow frock with her shoulder length hair dancing around her shoulders, running towards us.

"Asalam O Alikum, princess." I smiled as I kneeled down and made Ahyan stood in front of her.

"Walikum as Salam, chachu." She said with a smile as she hugged me and kissed my cheeks. "Happy birthday, Yani!" she then turned to Ahyan and hugged him.

"Where is baba?" I asked the little girl who was making faces for Ahyan making him chuckle.

"He is coming with mama," then as something snapped in her memory, her eyes flickered as she turned to Khadija, "Chachee I need to tell you something."

"Yes Dija?" Khadija smiled.

"Alone." She whispered, looking at Khadija's face with all the seriousness in her eyes. Khadija kneeled down beside me and brought her ears closer to Dija. "Mama is having a baby in her tummy!" her excited voice reached all our ears, I lost my balance as I chocked, Khadija's eyes went wide and we heard Abeer gasp behind us.

"Yar sorry—" we all looked up to Murtaza, who was carrying bags and Rumaisa standing behind him, her hand supporting her waist. I felt my lips curl into a smirk as I eyed Murtaza again.

"So much for asking her to not be a news channel" I heard Rumaisa's exasperated voice and the rest of us started laughing.

"It wasn't my fault! I was just preparing her for the time." Murtaza hid his smile as he placed his hand around his wife and kissed her head.

"So Dija are you excited to become a big sissy?" Abeer asked and the little girl nodded.

Soon after Abeer took both the kids where the play area was arranged, while Murtaza and I followed our wives where everyone from the family was sitting, as I took a seat beside Khadija my eyes wander to everyone's face, my heart warmed to see how the spark was coming back in their eyes again.

As the cool wind of the late evening brushed past us my heart let out a sigh of relief.
