Chapter 38- "Well then looks like we both are stuck together!"

Okay so in the chapter further I have mentioned something called the LBCU. This is a made up university, it's full form being London Basketball Club University. It is not a real university I have just made it up. Even the injections that I mentioned in this chapter are not real.
Chapter 38- "Well then looks like we both are stuck together!"
*Emily's POV*
I don't know how long I have been in this state but I hate it. Everyday all the people who love me come to me and talk to me but my body can't respond back. My muscles don't move.

"Princess remember the time------" Lucas starts to say and my heart breaks.

He is a guy every girl asks for. He the bad boy who is only good for me and I am his Princess who is only bad for him. I love him more than anything, even more than coffee.

I have to wake up today. I have to do it for everyone who has stayed by my side and most importantly for Lucas. So I use every last gram of energy in my body and force my eyes open.

"Water." I managed to speak.

"Doctor!" He called and helped me drink water.

"Lucas." I smiled.

"Shhh.... don't take so much stress. Just let the doctor come." Lucas stated and I nodded.

"She is awake, this is a good sign. Let me have a quick check up." The doctor said.

"Yea sure." Lucas spoke. After checking my steady heartbeat and plus rate, the doctor was satisfied.

"She is doing really well. Some blood and x-rays reports are yet to come after which we will gain further information." The doctor said an left.

"Heyy, you made it." Lucas smiled.

"Of course I did." I smiled back.

"Thank God you did otherwise I wouldn't be able to live."

"I wouldn't let you die."

"Princess I love you. So fucking much that it fucking hurts." He cussed.

"I know. I know because I feel it too." I pressed my lips to his for a brief second after which the door opened revealing my friends.

"Emily!" They all yelled together

"Guys! My head hurts!" I complained.

"Who the hell cares about your head when you almost gave us a heart attack?!" Katie spoke.

"Yea! If you died I would have totally killed you!" Lucy grumbled.

"Sure baby and I would help you." Aaron said.

"Oh don't worry Emily, Jace would come to your rescue!" Jace joked.

Ethan again just stood there. He stood at the door admiring me head to toe as if I was a dream. I looked at him and gave a wide smile. He smiled back at me.

"Emily" He said with so many emotions that I felt so much love all of a sudden.

"Ethan." I smiled and held my hands out for him. He came forward and hugged me.

"Emily thank gods. I would have lost it if you didn't make it. Emily never do that again please. I have only you Emily." Ethan spoke and I could feel the pain. I could feel his tears on the back of my shirt.

"I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you. I'm so sorry Ethan." I cried.

"Aww..." Lucy awwed.

"What happened to mom, Ashley and Adam?" I asked.

"Mary to prison, Adam and Ashley to juvie." Aaron said.

"Will---will they come back?" I stuttered.

"No Princess. Your mom is sentenced to lifetime imprisonment. Adam and Ashley will get out of juvie but will be monitored for the rest of their lives." Lucas assured.

"Okay." I spoke.

"I would like everyone to leave and just her guardian stays please." The doctor said entering the room.

"Okay." Ethan nods and motions for everyone to wait outside.

"I have the reports and everything except two conditions is fine. The first is Osgood-Schlatter disease. It is a painful condition that affects the upper part of the shin bone (tibia). It most commonly occurs in teenagers who play sport. It causes pain and swelling just below the knee. It is not serious and usually goes away in time." The doctor says.

"What about the second condition?" Ethan asks because I'm too shocked to speak.

"Anaemia." Doctor sighs.

"Does this mean I can't play basketball?" I ask.

"For sometime no." The doctor says.

"But that's not okay.... it's my dream to join the LBCU. I have a match to play after my exams and they might select me for an undergraduate course!" I exclaimed.

"Why do I not know about this?" Ethan ask.

"Ethan I promise we'll discuss this later but doc, there has to be a way." I asked.

"There is a way but a very expensive and non-recommendable way."

"I'm ready to pay any cost." Ethan said.

"There are injections that will reduce this disease when you are playing the match but remember, the pain will double for some days afterwards. But this affects your knee a lot. You might have severe problems in the future. As for Anemia, I'll start with the meds and stuff." The doctor said.

"Thank you." I said as the doctor left.

"You are planning to go to LBCU?" Ethan asked.

"Yes." I answered.

"And I'm going to Duke." Ethan sighed.

"That's great! Are you done with your interview or what?"

"No, I still have to do that." Ethan said.

"Oh. Ethan do you think I should go for LBCU?" I asked.

"It is the best women basketball university but with your condition, I don't think you should."

"But it's my dream." I sighed.

"Then go for it. Just remember to inform Lucas about it too. I'll send him in, you have fifteen minutes." Ethan said before leaving.

Going to the LBCU is my dream. It has been something I have wanted from the time I didn't even know my school's name. But now, in my condition is it okay to do so? Should I exert my body so much? Plus am I ready to leave Lucas?

If I strain my body more than its capacity, it will give up. Then my life would be a waste and a burden on Ethan. Instead if I go to Duke after two years and then pursuit my next best alternative Law, It will be better for me.

"Princess what did the doctor say?" Lucas asked.

"I have Osgood-Schlatter and Anemia." I spoke.

"Wait what?! How?" He asked.

"That's not important. I have been offered an undergraduate course at the LBCU." His body froze but somehow he managed to answer.

"Th--- that's great." He fake smiled.

"Don't fake smile bad boy I'm not going."

"Emily I shouldn't be the reason----"

"Don't even start there. I'm not physically fit for the opportunity and now my dreams have changed. My dream is to do law from Duke." I spoke.

"Princess, I'm going to apply for Duke too." Lucas confessed.

"Well then looks like we both are stuck together!" I smiled and pulled him in for a kiss.
