Chapter 4- Party Time

Shelby's POV

"Are we almost at Adam's house yet?" I asked Ross who was driving. "Yeah, just a few more blocks Shubs. I promise you'll have a great time." Ross conformed me. "Okay." I said back. I wonder if they know I have really bad anxiety.. Well I just hope all goes well. "Oh look! we're here!" Max shouts. "C'mon let's go inside" Ross tells us. I start to follow them and we walk inside. Everyone (Adam, Alesa, Red, Barney, Ross, and Max) yells "Welcome Shelby!" "Aw, thanks guys! This is why I love coming to visit." I say in return. "You look beautiful, hun!" Alesa said to me. "Yeah!" said Red and Barney. "Thanks again to everyone. You all didn't have to do this for me, but I'm glad you did." I thank them again. "Sure thing Shubs." Adam said. "Now let's party!" said Red excited. "Yeah!" C'mon" were all of our responses. Adam turned on the music and everyone started dancing. "Hey, Shubs.." Max said to me. "Yeah.?" I asked him. "Follow me, c'mon Shubs" he requested to me. "A-alright!" I said and followed him out to the patio.
First thing I saw was the beautiful lake. "Wow, it looks gorgeous" I said out loud. "But not more than you are" Max said to me while smiling and inching closer. I started inching closer too, until we where- once again- noses basically touching, then Adam opened the patio door and just gave us a surprised look. "Oh.. Uh.. I-I didn't mean to interrupt you two's 'special moment'" Adam said while laughing. "N-no, we were just talking about.. stuff." I said quickly trying to save us. "Yeah okay. I was just wondering why y'all left outside, I mean the party's inside.. but now I see" Adam said trailing off again because he was laughing so hard. "We were just headed inside now, r-right Shelby.?" Max asked me. "Y-yeah, right." Nice save, Max. But oh great. I DO have feelings for him.

{Time Skip to Party's Over}

Max's POV

"Well we're gonna head home now, right Ross?" I asked Ross. "Yeah. right. I'll drive." Ross told me. "Well bye guys!" I said my goodbyes as well as Ross. "Yeah, thanks for everything! I loved it. Well see you guys tomorrow! Bye.!" said Shelby. We all got into the car, Ross driving, me in the Passenger's Seat, and Shelby in the back. We got home quite fast. I looked at my phone for the time and it was 10:45 when we got home. "Well night guys. I'm tired" said Ross. "Yeah, same here. thanks for letting me stay." said Shelby. "No problem Shubs. I'm heading off to bed too. night." I finished off the day. While everyone was already in bed, I'm assuming asleep, I couldn't sleep. Thinking about the almost-perfect moments Shubs and I had. Twice. We almost kissed twice. I.. I love her. I think she might like me too, or why would she have gone in for the kiss too.?
