I've never grown up around anything magic based, even though my entire family bloodline was pureblood, and the entire family seems extremely proud of it. Always boasting about it, everyday, all the time. All of my family had been sorted into Slytherin house. My mother and father are ministry workers, and have quite high and respectable jobs. My father's name is Liatrus, and my mother's is Lilac. They named me Sage, after the flower. Since my parents both had flower names, I guess they thought the idea of naming their daughter after one was a good idea.

My mother works in the Department of International Magic Cooperation, and my father works for the Wizengamot. I rarely see them, and after a while I've learned to care for myself. And anyways I'll be going to Hogwarts soon.

When I got my acceptance letter, I wrote a note, left it on the table, and headed to my parents room. All three of us had already discussed what was to happen when I got my letter. I was to leave a note, and go to my parents bedroom to get the small velvet pouch, filled with enough Galleons to get me what was needed. I was then to alert my maid that I was leaving to Diagon Alley, and tell her that I would be gone for about two hours. Then, I'll go to Diagon Alley, and buy my supplies, come home, pack my trunk, and wait for them to come home and check what I have bought.

As I headed upstairs, I mentally noted to grab my small amount of savings from under my bed. I had been saving it for today, to buy a little something extra. I didn't know what I would get yet though. There wasn't much there, so it wouldn't be anything very special. I would of course, have to hide it, as Mother and Father would be furious if they found out I had bought anything not on my list.

I continued up the dark wooden staircase, and entered my parents bedroom. It was strange seeing it. I almost never came in here. The vast room was painted a dull brownish yellow, and there was nothing but a bed and two dressers painted the same colour as the walls. The large king-sized bed was currently being made by Maid Alison, who curtly bowed to me as I entered the room. I nodded my head to her and walked over.

" Oh Alison, haven't I told you? You don't need to put new pillows down on Father's side every time you make the beds. Mother likes it, but I'm quite sure Father likes his pillows to stay the same. He's constantly mumbling about it." I said to her politely.

" Sorry miss, I'll note that. May I ask you a question miss?" she said. Her voice had a singsong-like tone, and Alison was very polite.

  "Yes of course."

" Well, Miss Sage, you never are in here. In fact you seem to avoid it. So miss... Why exactly have you chosen today to come into their bedroom? Sorry if that was out of my place to ask" , she said quickly, bowing her head.

" Oh no not at all! I just got my letter you see, and I was coming to get my money for school supplies." I explained, crossing the room to open the small box on top of Mother's dresser. I pulled out the pouch, hearing it jingle lightly, as I tucked it into my small leather purse. " See?"

" Oh I see miss. Congratulations on your letter!" She said, smiling. " Would you like me to tell Maid Persephone that you are leaving?" Maid Persephone was my personal maid, and it was her job to know whenever I was leaving the Manor, and to see to my every need.

" Yes please Alison. Thank you so much!" I said, leaving the room. " Have a lovely day!"

 " You too Miss Sage!"
