Today I was going to the Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw game. I hadn't attended any of the past Quidditch games, but I was going to this one because, 1) John and Quinn forced me to, 2) Ravenclaw was playing, and 3) Our prefect Becca was on the Quidditch team, and she had been talking about this match for weeks, and how it was going to be so amazing, so I ended up going.
I walked out with Quinn and John, and climbed up what seemed like a million stairs to reach the top of the Quidditch pitch. We spotted some pretty good seats, and squeezed through the crowd to get to them. We plopped down, out of breath, and Quinn pulled out some chocolate frogs, and then the game started.
The Ravenclaw team came out onto the field and we cheered loudly. I saw Rebecca standing proudly with a few other older Ravenclaw student I recognized. They walked to the middle of the field, standing proudly as Lee Jordan, the announcer, introduced the Hufflepuff Team as they walked out. The Quidditch captains stepped forwards and shook hands. And then after a few words from Madame Hooch, the match began.
The players took of, kicking off the ground and into the sky. They whipped through the sky, twisting and turning, throwing the Quaffle around. I watched a Bludger barely miss a Hufflepuff players head, but she ducked at the last second, earning cheers from the crowd. I cheered when Becca threw the Quaffle into the hoop, scoring points for Ravenclaw.
And the game went on.
The match went for about an hour, and I was blown away by the talent of the players. In the end, the Hufflepuff seeker caught the Snitch, and Hufflepuff won the match. We were heading down to go back to the common room, when we ran into the Hufflepuff seeker, who was also the girl who had dodged the Bludger earlier. We congratulated her. Her name was Sarah, and she said she had been playing for 10 years, and thanked us, then headed towards the locker room.
We went back to the common room, to see a miserable Becca, and many others around her.
"Don't worry! There's always the next game Becca! This was only the 3rd game! And you won all the other ones. Remember last time when you blocked that Quaffle with the tip of your broom? Only one other person has ever done that before, and she's a professional!"
Becca was the Keeper on the team, and I had heard all about the incident from Topaz. Topaz and I had begun to hang out in between classes and at dinner, and we were becoming better friends every day. I twirled my friendship bracelet around my wrist as I walked up to my bed, plopping down, exhausted. Hecate crawled up onto my chest, purring, and snuggled against my chin.
I dozed off even though I should have been studying for my Potions test tomorrow. But I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer as I let blissful sleep wash over me.
A/N Hi friends! So I know I haven't written in a while, and I'm so sorry but SCHOOL. It's the third week and I'm so done. Anyways I wanna give a few shoutouts to some friends who write stories and are in this one!
