Chap. 6

   I made sure to move quickly, as I only had 15 minutes until I needed to head home. I was thinking about what I should buy with the money I saved, and the money I had gotten from Barns. I suddenly spotted something. It was a broomstick shop, and in the window sat the perfect, sleek racing broom. I ran up to it, reading its name. "Nimbus 2000. What an odd name. I've heard of there being flying broomsticks, but never a... wait whats this? Quidditch?" I had paused to read a small description of the broom that was next to it. It read, "The Nimbus 2000, the fastest, smoothest ride you could ask for! Perfect for all your Quidditch needs! Buy it now for just 950 galleons!" 

  Then as I was pondering how much Barns had given me,and wondering what in the world Quidditch was, I remembered that I couldn't have my own broomstick. It had said it in the letter.[ I was totally going to have her get a broomstick, and be on the Quidditch team but then I remembered this :( ] I sauntered away slowly,head hanging low  before hearing something that sounded...like an owl twittering, and a cat purring. I turned to see that I was standing next to a pet store, and I decided to get a pet. I could keep it with the other animals we have on the property, and then I'll have Persephone bring it to me after Mother and Father have dropped me off at Kings Cross station. 

  The shop was very cramped, and cages lined the walls.  I headed inside, looking at the different animals.  I remembered in my letter it had said we could bring a owl, cat or toad. I knew I didn't want a toad, so I only looked at cats and owls. In the end, I couldn't choose between a tawny owl, or a black kitten. I walked up to the register. An older man sat there, playing with a small mouse. I asked him how much the tawny owl was. He replied, " Well the tawny owls are 10, and that black cat you were just looking at is 9."

"9 what?"

"9 galleons."

   I eventually decided on the kitten, but then I realized...I had saved up my entire life. 300 galleons, and I was only spending 9? Then again, maybe I could save this money, and get a broom next year. I picked up the little kitten, and payed the 9 galleons to get it. Then I bought food, toys, and a small pen for it. the total price came up to 35 galleons, and 7 knuts. I payed, and held my new kitten in my arms. 

" That's the only black cat we've had in the shop for a while. Its a she, by the way. I know she'll love you. She's a very gentle one." said the man at the checkout, smiling at me brightly. "What are you going to name her?"

   I thought for a moment, and then decided on a name I had heard before in one of my Greek mythology books. 

" I'm going to name her Hecate. The goddess of magic!" 

A/N Hello friends! I'm sorry I didn't publish this yesterday, I haven't been super great lately, so I might start posting every other day, but I'm not sure yet! Hey I'm not posting this chapter at 11:00 like the other time at least. Well goodbye for now!
