"You came back too?"
The room was dim, but I could make out John's figure, standing in front of the mirror. He had come back.
Just like me.
"Yea, I did. I wanted to see it again." John said, sighing. He was so lost in the mirror, that he didn't even notice when Andrew walked in. I turned to Andrew.
"What are you doing here?"
"Well, I was just wandering the castle, and heard some voices in here. I've already been in here before though... pretty interesting huh?"
"Yea, I guess so. "
Despite our talking, John hadn't so much as looked towards us, much the less acknowledged Andrew's presence. He was staring into the mirror, entranced.
"Is he okay?" asked Andrew. "He seems pretty into it."
Andrew walked over to John, and made some weird noises to try and claim his attention. John acted as though Andrew didn't exist. He was suddenly broken out of his trance when Andrew placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, are you alright John?"
John's hand flew up to touch Andrew's. He turned around,a look of confusion in his eyes. Andrew pulled his hand away and smiled at John.
"Alright then your not a zombie. Seemed pretty dead to me though." Andrew said in amusement. John just looked at him with confusion, staying silent. He still seemed a bit confused, and kept looking from the mirror to Andrew. Andrew smiled once again and then turned and began to walk to the door.
"Well I'm heading to the kitchens if you guys want to tag along. I usually go alone though, so-"
"Yes! .. Uh I mean, sure we could tag along right Sage?" Andrew is cut off by an enthusiastic John, who is giving me a quite threatening look.
"Yeah sure. I don't see why not."
"Alright then guys, follow me! And, make sure you guys stay quiet, I don't want Filch catching us."
We followed Andrew down corridors, staying completely silent, and we eventually passed the Great Hall, and headed down a marbled staircase, and suddenly Andrew stops at a painting of a fruit bowl. John seems to have expected this, and also comes to a halt, but I stumble back at the abrupt stop. Andrew lift his hand up to the pear, and begins to tickle it. I find this extremely odd, but I go along with it. It's Hogwarts, there's a ton of odd stuff everywhere.
Suddenly I hear a giggling noise, and I look to see that the pear is laughing. Suddenly it turns into a doorknob, and Andrew pulls it open. I peek inside to see a massive kitchen, with quite a few little creatures running around, preparing food. One suddenly notices us, as Andrew closes the door/painting, and alerts the other creatures.
"What are they?" I whisper to John. "House elves." he replies.
"Hello, Cipney the house elf, at your service Miss! What would you like to eat?"
A house elf had run up to me, curtsied, and offered me food. The same had happened to Andrew and John, and neither of them looked surprised. I however, was quite surprised. The two boys were already spouting out food they wanted, and I managed to stutter out,
"Um, I-I'd like s-some hot coco p-please Miss. Cipney."
" Oh, Miss? I like you! " she said and then scuttled off to make some coco, with a smile on her face.
After a few minutes, the boys were pigging out on so much food I couldn't tell what was what, and I was sat next to them, sipping the delightfully tasty and perfect temperature coco. How did these amazing little creatures know how hot I liked my coco? I didn't even ask, but they put just the right amount of marshmallows in it. I slowly finished my hot coco , while the boys neared the end of their feast. Cipney the house elf seemed to be physic, because the moment the mug was empty, she returned with a coffee cup, the lid screwed on tight.
" I made some more coco to go for you Miss. I was happy to serve you today!"
"Oh, thank you so much Miss Cipney! I appreciate it!
Cipney smiled and curtsied, and then walked back into the kitchen area. The boys had finished eating, so we finally left. I don't know how long we were in there!
I sipped my hot coco on the way back to the Common Room, and I blindly followed John, figuring he knew the way back. We ended up at the Gryffindor Common Room first, and bid our goodbyes with Andrew. I was so absorbed in my coco, and my thoughts tied up in the kitchens, that the sound of John babbling about how great Andrew was, was simply a background noise. We eventually reached the Common Room, and John and I said goodnight, and headed off. I finished the amazing hot coco, and plopped down on my bed, already drifting off to sleep.
